Hedda Award

The Hedda Award (Heddaprisen) is a Norwegian theatre award, first presented in 1998. It is named after the character "Hedda" from Ibsen's play Hedda Gabler . Among its categories, which have varied over the years, are: Best Theatre Production, Best Direction, Best Stage Performance, and occasionally an honorary prize. The prize is administered by the Association of Norwegian Theatres and Orchestras (Norsk teater- og orkesterforening) in collaboration with the Norwegian Theater Leaders' Forum (Norsk teaterlederforum). Contents

Recipients of the honorary prize have included Wenche Foss (in 2002), Jon Fosse (2003), and Toralv Maurstad and Espen Skjønberg (both in 2005). [3] [4] Else Nordvang in 2008, Edith Roger in 2010 and Bjørn Sundquist in 2017. [5]

Jonas Hassen Khemiri is a Swedish writer. He is the author of six novels, seven plays, and a collection of essays, short stories and plays. His work has been translated into more than 25 languages. He has received the August Prize for fiction and a Village Voice Obie Award for best script. In 2017 he became the first Swedish writer to have a short story published in the New Yorker. Khemiri's novel The Family Clause (FSG) was awarded the French Prix Médicis and was a finalist for the National Book Award. Khemiri moved to New York in 2021 for a Cullman Fellowship at The New York Public Library and currently teaches in the Creative Writing program at NYU. The Association of Norwegian Theatres and Orchestras is an employers' organisation in Norway for theatre and symphony orchestra institutions.

Tore Vagn Lid is a Norwegian theatre director, playwright, musician, Bertolt Brecht enthusiast and artistic director of Transiteatret-Bergen. Tore Vagn Lid holds a professorship in dramaturgy at the National Academy of the Arts (KHIO) in Oslo. He earned a PhD from the Institute for Applied Theatre Studies in Giessen, Germany. Central in what is seen as a new political turn in the contemporary Norwegian theater. He has also written numerous articles, especially focusing on the relationship between theater and music, musicdramaturgy and musical strategies for theater directing. In October 2011 Lid published his book on music theatre aesthetics and dramaturgy called "Gegenseitige Verfremdungen - Theater als kritischer Erfahrungsraum im Stoffwechsel zwischen Bühne und Musik".

Operation Almenrausch was a counter-resistance operation in occupied Norway, planned and carried out by the Wehrmacht and the Nazi-controlled Norwegian Statspolitiet on 13 June 1944. It was named after the Almenrausch, an "Alpine Rose" growing in continental Europe.

Teater Vestland is a theatre based in Førde, Norway, Founded in 1977, it serves as the regional theatre for Vestland, and tours with performances across the county. Theater tours in Vestland focus especially on new Norwegian drama, plays with stories from the region and politically engaging performances. In 2010, the theatre and theater director Terje Lyngstad received the Hedda Award (Heddaprisen) in the class "Special artistic effort" for investment in new, Norwegian drama with a regional perspective.

Erik Hedin is a sound designer and composer, and has worked closely with his partner Kjersti Horn.
