Heidi Van Horne is an American actress, pin-up model, filmmaker and newspaper columnist.
She was born in New Jersey. At the age of 14, she was cast in Dazed and Confused by director Richard Linklater thru which she was "Taft-Hartley'd" into the Screen Actors Guild), and thus launching her professional acting career.
She has acted in independent films and on TV series, including ER , The O.C. and Gilmore Girls ; and as herself including appearing as the prize girl on the revival of The Gong Show with Dave Attell for Comedy Central and Happy Madison Productions.
She wrote two popular newspaper columns for Hearst Publications' Houston Chronicle from 2008 [1] -2018, "Heidi's Pics", a weekly top section cover story, and "Heidi's Customs & Classics", a biweekly section cover story that was syndicated in 14 markets across the U.S. and the columns' corresponding blogs at chron.com She has authored pieces for other publications, such as Rewire.org and Traditional Rod & Kulture.

Public News (PN) was an alternative newsweekly in Houston, Texas established in February 1982. The paper ceased publication in July 1998, with its advertising base and paid circulation acquired by the Houston Press, part of the New Times Media alternative newspaper chain. It was headquartered at 2038 Lexington in Houston. For most of its history, the owner was Bert Woodall. In 1997 the circulation was 47,000. It was published each Wednesday, and distributed for free. It had a focus on the arts, including music. The paper ranged in size from 12 to 56 pages, but most editions ran to 36 pages. It had a cooperation agreement with the Alternative Weekly Network (AWN), but was not a member of the New Times-dominated Association of Alternative Newsmedia (AAN).
