The Unified Team was the name used for the sports team of the former Soviet Union (except the Baltic states) at the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville and the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona. The IOC country code was EUN, after the French name, Équipe unifiée. The Unified Team was sometimes informally called the CIS Team, although Georgia did not join the CIS until 1993.
The 1964 Winter Olympics, officially known as the IX Olympic Winter Games and commonly known as Innsbruck 1964, was a winter multi-sport event which was celebrated in Innsbruck, Tyrol, Austria, from January 29 to February 9, 1964. The city was already an Olympic candidate, unsuccessfully bidding to host the 1960 Games. Innsbruck won the 1964 Games bid defeating the cities of Calgary in Canada and Lahti in Finland. The sports venues, many of which were built for the Games, were located within a radius of twenty kilometers around Innsbruck. The Games included 1,091 athletes from 36 nations, which was a record for the Winter Games at the time. Athletes participated in six sports and ten disciplines which bring together a total of thirty-four official events, seven more than the 1960. The luge made its debut on the Olympic program. Three Asian nations made their Winter Games debut: North Korea, India and Mongolia.
The 1976 Winter Olympics, officially known as the XII Olympic Winter Games, was a winter multi-sport event held in Innsbruck, Austria, from 4 to 15 February 1976. A total of 1,123 athletes representing 37 National Olympic Committees (NOC) participated in 37 events from 10 different sports and disciplines. Two events were contested for the first time: the figure skating discipline of ice dancing, and the men's 1,000 metres in speed skating.

She was a member of the Finnish women's national ice hockey team throughout the 1990s and 2000s and won a bronze medal at the inaugural Olympic women's ice hockey tournament at the 1998 Winter Olympics. Pälvilä also represented Finland in the women’s ice hockey tournaments at the 2002 and 2006 Winter Olympics, and won bronze medals at the IIHF Women's World Championships in 1997 and 2000, and at the 1996 IIHF European Women Championships.
Maria Helena Saarni née Selin is a Finnish retired ice hockey player. She was a member of the Finnish women's national ice hockey team throughout the 1990s and won a bronze medal at the inaugural Olympic women's ice hockey tournament at the 1998 Winter Olympics. With the national team, she also won bronze at the IIHF Women's World Championship tournaments in 1999 and 2000, and at the 1996 IIHF European Women Championship.
Andorra sent a delegation to compete in the 2010 Winter Olympics held in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, from 12 to 28 February 2010. Andorra has never won an Olympic medal, despite appearing at every Winter and Summer Games since 1976. The Andorran delegation to these Olympics consisted of six athletes, four in alpine skiing, one in cross-country skiing, and one in snowboarding, the last being Lluís Marin Tarroch, the first snowboarder to represent Andorra at the Olympics. He placed 34th in his only event, and failed to advance to the quarterfinals as a result. Francesc Soulié, the first Andorran cross-country skier to compete at the Games, made his second Olympics appearance, achieving a 47th place finish in the best of his three events. The four alpine skiers that competed recorded six DNFs in their thirteen combined events, though Mireia Gutiérrez recorded a team-high 24th-place result in her best event.

Helena Olsson Smeby is a Norwegian ski jumper. She was born in Torsby, Sweden, and lives in Trondheim, Norway, where she represents the club Byåsen IL. She competed at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2009 in Liberec, where she placed sixteenth in the women's individual normal hill She competes at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, in the ladies normal hill.
Helena Mikołajczyk is a Polish biathlete. She competed in two events at the 1994 Winter Olympics.
Helena Gąsienica Daniel was a Polish cross-country skier. She enjoyed success from a young age, winning two gold medals at the Polish national championships by the age of 16: she went on to win a total of ten golds and four silver medals at the national championships. She competed at the 1956 Winter Olympics and the 1960 Winter Olympics. At the 1956 Games she finished in 24th place in the 10 km, whilst at the 1960 Games she finished 21st in the 10 km and, alongside Stefania Biegun and Józefa Czerniawska-Pęksa, was part of the Polish team that finished fourth in the 3 x 5 km relay.
