The Hanoverian or Hannoveraner is a German breed or stud-book of warmblood sport horse. As with other German warmblood breeds, eligibility for registration depends on performance rather than ancestry.
The Oldenburg or Oldenburger is a warmblood horse from the north-western corner of Lower Saxony, what was formerly the Grand Duchy of Oldenburg. The breed was built on a mare base of all-purpose farm and carriage horses, today called the Alt-Oldenburger. The modern Oldenburg is managed by the Association of Breeders of the Oldenburger Horse, which enacts strict selection of breeding stock to ensure that each generation is better than the last. Oldenburgers are tall sport horses with excellent gaits and jumping ability. The breeding of Oldenburg horses is characterized by very liberal pedigree requirements and the exclusive use of privately owned stallions rather than restriction to a state-owned stud farm.
The Selle Français (SF) is a breed of sport horse from France. An athletic horse with good gaits, it is usually bay or chestnut in color. The Selle Français was created in 1958 when several French riding horse breeds were merged into one stud book. The new breed was meant to serve as a unified sport horse during a period when horses were being replaced by mechanization and were transforming into an animal used mainly for sport and leisure.
The Holsteiner is a horse breed originating in the Schleswig-Holstein region of northern Germany. It is thought to be the oldest of warmblood breeds, tracing back to the 13th century. Though the population is not large, Holsteiners are a dominant force of international show jumping, and are found at the top levels of dressage, combined driving, show hunters, and eventing.
The Irish Sport Horse, or Irish Hunter, is an Irish breed of warmblood sporting horse, used mostly for dressage, eventing and show-jumping. It was bred from 1923 by cross-breeding of Irish Draught and Thoroughbred stock. There was some limited intromission of Hanoverian, Selle Français and Trakehner blood in the 1990s. It is a recognised true breed – foals may only be registered in the main section of the stud-book if both parents are registered in that section.
A Dutch Warmblood is a warmblood type of horse registered with the Koninklijk Warmbloed Paardenstamboek Nederland (Royal Warmblood Studbook of the Netherlands, which governs the breeding of competitive dressage and show jumping horses, as well as the show harness horse and Gelderlander, and a hunter studbook in North America. Developed through a breeding program that began in the 1960s, the Dutch are some of the most successful competition horses developed in postwar Europe.
The CSIO Spruce Meadows' 'Masters' Tournament is an annual fall equestrian show jumping event held at Spruce Meadows in Calgary, Alberta, presented by Rolex as of 2022. It is highlighted by the BMO Financial Group Nations' Cup which offers a C$350,000 purse and is notable as the "richest team show jumping event in the world", as well as by the $3,000,000 CPKC International Grand Prix presented by ROLEX.
The Belgian Warmblood or Belgisch Warmbloedpaard is a Belgian breed of warmblood sport horse. It is bred principally for show-jumping, but is also suitable for dressage and for three-day eventing. It is one of three Belgian warmblood breeds or stud-books, the others being the Zangersheide and the Belgian Sport Horse – to which last it is quite similar.
The Westphalian or Westfalen is a warmblood horse bred in the Westphalia region of western Germany. The Westphalian is closely affiliated with the state-owned stud farm of Warendorf, which it shares with the Rhinelander. Since World War II, the Westphalian horse has been bred to the same standard as the other German warmbloods, and they are particularly famous as Olympic-level show jumpers and dressage horses. Next to the Hanoverian, the Westphalian studbook has the largest breeding population of any warmblood in Germany.
The World Breeding Federation for Sport Horses (WBFSH) is an umbrella organisation of sport horse studbooks. It connects sport horse breeding organizations with the International Federation for Equestrian Sports (FEI). The FEI is the International Olympic Committee-recognized federation for Olympic equestrian sports. The WBFSH publishes official rankings of horses competing in international sport and also ranks the breeding organizations. Since 1992, the WBFSH has held the World Breeding Championships for Sport Horses, an international-level competition between the most promising young horses in the sports of dressage, show jumping, and eventing.
The Longines Global Champions Tour (LGCT) is an annual pre-eminent individual show jumping series that comprises up to 15 rounds of competition hosted around the world. It brings together the top 30 riders in the FEI Jumping World Rankings.
Scott Brash MBE is a Scottish showjumper. He began riding the horse Hello Sanctos in early 2012. They competed as part of the British Team at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London winning a gold medal in the team jumping event. In 2015, he became the first rider to win show jumping's Rolex Grand Slam, all three of the sport's most prestigious events in a single year, earning the sport's biggest individual prize of €1 million (£735,000).

The Zangersheide is a Belgian breed or stud-book of warmblood sport horses. It is one of three Belgian warmblood breeds or stud-books, the others being the Belgian Sport Horse and the Belgian Warmblood.
The British Warmblood is British inspection-based stud-book of sport horse. Like other warmblood stud-books it is commonly considered to be a breed. It derives from European sport horses including the Hanoverian, the Dutch Warmblood and the Danish Warmblood.
Chiara 222 was a gray mare registered in the Holsteiner studbook and ridden in show jumping. This daughter of Contender was born in the Oldenburg region. After a successful debut under the saddle of Irish rider Cameron Hanley, she was snapped up by Germany's Ludger Beerbaum, with whom she won three silver medals, at the 2013 European Dressage and Show Jumping Team Championships, at the 2013-2014 Show Jumping World Cup Final as an individual, and then at the 2014 World Equestrian Games as a team. She was euthanized in April 2019, at the age of 16, following a bout of colic, without the possibility of retirement.
Flora de Mariposa was a chestnut show-jumping mare registered in the Belgian Warmblood studbook, born on April 26, 2005 in Belgium at the Herman de Brabander stud. She achieved excellent results in her early years, from age 4 to 7, under the saddle of Belgian rider Kurt De Clercq. French rider Geneviève Mégret, owner of the Clarbec stud farm in the Pays d'Auge region, acquired her at the end of 2012 and entrusted her to Rouen rider Pénélope Leprévost, who took her to the highest level. Flora de Mariposa was the French revelation of 2014, despite her young age, thanks to her performances during the World Equestrian Games. In 2015, she won two Grand Prix and had the best season of any French show jumping horse, earning her the title of "Horse of the Year". Selected for the 2016 Rio Olympics, she won a team gold medal. Injured in 2017, she fell to another rider, Félicie Bertrand, at the end of 2018. She died of endotoxemia at the age of 15 on July 30, 2020.
Quorida de Treho is a chestnut mare, registered in the Selle Français genealogical register, daughter of Kannan and Dalais, by Tolbiac des Forêts. Born at Cruguel in Morbihan (Brittany), she was trained as a show jumper, successfully completing the classical show jumping cycle. Subsequently ridden by Franco-Swiss rider Romain Duguet, the pair reached the level of international competitions, winning the Saut Hermès jump, the CSIO in St. Gallen and the bronze medal at the European Show Jumping Championships in 2015, as well as the Helsinki World Cup stage twice, in 2015 and 2016. Quorida is voted Horse of the Year 2015 in Switzerland by the German-speaking readers of PferdeWoche.
Quickly de Kreisker is a Selle Français show jumping stallion born on February 5, 2004, at a stud in Finistère. Sired by Diamant de Semilly and Briseis d'Helby by Laudanum, he was sold by the Fences agency as a two-year-old. He spent several years in France on the classic cycle, trained by Benjamin Robert and Bruno Souloumiac's Breton stables. At the end of 2012, King Mohammed VI of Morocco bought him under Marcel Rozier's supervision, and entrusted him to Abdelkebir Ouaddar, a Moroccan rider.
