Henry Roberts (1862 –1 January 1949) was a New Zealand rugby union player. A halfback,Roberts represented Wellington and Canterbury at a provincial level,and was a member of the first New Zealand national side,the All Blacks,in 1884. He played seven matches for the All Blacks,none of them internationals. His son Teddy,also a halfback,was a member of the All Blacks in 1913,making them the team's first father–son representatives. Following the death of James O'Donnell in 1942,Roberts held the distinction of being the oldest living All Black.
Roberts also played first-class cricket for Wellington between 1883 and 1890. [1] [2]

Otago and Southland also participated in a two match series which was drawn 1-all. Auckland and Taranaki then drew a two match series.

Albert "Doolan" Joseph Downing was a New Zealand international rugby union player,capped 26 times at lock between 1913 and 1914. He was born in Napier,and began his playing career for Napier Marist in 1909,from which he was selected for Hawke's Bay and for the North Island. He moved at the end of 1912 to Auckland and there joined Auckland Marist,where he was the club's first All Black,playing his debut match against a touring Australian team in 1913. He was selected for the highly successful tour of North America in 1913,playing in 14 of the 16 matches and scoring 6 tries.
Laurence Stokes Haig was a New Zealand rugby union player. He was born in Scotland but emigrated to New Zealand with his family when he was two years old. A first five-eighth,Haig represented Otago at a provincial level,and was a member of the New Zealand national side,the All Blacks,between 1950 and 1954. He played 29 matches for the All Blacks including nine internationals,and captained the side on six occasions.
Frederick Roberts was a rugby union footballer who played for the New Zealand national team,commonly called the All Blacks. Playing at halfback,he played for the 1905 Original All Blacks,the first New Zealand representative team to tour the British Isles. He was the only halfback taken on the tour,and played in 28 of their 32 matches in the British Isles. New Zealand rugby historian Winston McCarthy wrote of Roberts that he was "a superb passer,a judicious runner from the scrum,and excellent two-foot kicker and a giant on defence." Roberts continued to be selected by the All Blacks until 1910,when he captained the New Zealand team on their tour of Australia.
Kayne Hammington is a New Zealand rugby union player who currently plays as a halfback for Otago in New Zealand's domestic Mitre 10 Cup and the Highlanders in the international Super Rugby competition.
Thomas George Corkill was a New Zealand rugby union player who represented the New Zealand national team,the All Blacks in 1925. His position of choice was preferably a halfback however he was used throughout the backline both provincially and internationally.
