Herman Ponsteen (born 27 March 1953 in Hellendoorn, Overijssel) is a retired track cyclist from the Netherlands, who represented his native country twice at two consecutive Summer Olympics, starting in 1972 (Munich, West Germany). Four years later he won the silver medal at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, in the Men's 4.000m Individual Pursuit. [1]
Hellendoorn is a municipality and town in the middle of the Dutch province of Overijssel. As of 2019, the municipality had a population of 35,808.
Leontien Martha Henrica Petronella Zijlaard-van Moorsel is a Dutch retired racing cyclist. She was a dominant cyclist in the 1990s and early 2000s, winning four gold medals at the Olympic Games and holding the hour record for women from 2003 until 2015.
