Hermitage Country Club is a country club and private recreational facility located in Manakin Sabot in eastern Goochland County, Virginia, a suburb of the state capital of Richmond. Founded in 1900 in Richmond, it is one of the oldest golf clubs in Virginia.
Construction of the club's first permanent home in the Lakeside section of Henrico County was completed in 1917. The golf course, originally designed by A. W. Tillinghast and remodeled in 1940 by Donald Ross, hosted the PGA Championship in 1949, the first and only time a men's major championship was ever held in the state.
In the 1970s, the club sold its old property to the county and moved to their current location in Manakin Sabot. Current amenities include two 18-hole golf courses, one of which was renovated by Arthur Hills in 2000, a fitness center, and dining facilities.
The club was organized on October 24, 1900, as "Hermitage Golf Club" by Berkeley Williams and a number of other Richmond businessmen, making it the 4th oldest country club in Virginia. [1] [2] In July 1916, the group was incorporated as "Hermitage Country Club" after its application was approved by the State Corporation Commission. [3] [4]
The club hosted the PGA Championship in 1949, at the course that later became Henrico County's Belmont Golf Course. Sam Snead won his second PGA Championship that year with a 3&2 victory over Johnny Palmer in the final match.
Hermitage has a large pool, four indoor and eight outdoor tennis courts, two 18-hole golf courses (Manakin and Sabot), a full gym and weight room, and two dining rooms.

Atlanta Athletic Club (AAC), founded in 1898, is a private country club in Johns Creek, Georgia, a suburb 23 miles north of Atlanta. The Omni Homestead Resort is a luxury resort in Hot Springs, Virginia, United States, in the middle of the Allegheny Mountains. The area has the largest hot springs in the commonwealth, and the resort is also known for its championship golf courses, which have hosted several national tournaments. The resort also includes an alpine ski resort; founded in 1959, it is the oldest in Virginia. The resort has been designated a National Historic Landmark; it has a history extending more than two and a half centuries. The Omni Homestead Resort is a member of Historic Hotels of America the official program of the National Trust for Historic Preservation.

The Crestar Classic was a golf tournament on the Champions Tour from 1983 to 1990. It was played in Manakin-Sabot, Virginia at the Hermitage Country Club. In 1988, it was the last professional victory for Arnold Palmer.
The 1949 PGA Championship was the 31st PGA Championship, held May 25–31 in Virginia at Belmont Golf Course, north of Richmond. Native Virginian Sam Snead won the match play championship, 3 and 2 over Johnny Palmer in the Tuesday final; the winner's share was $3,500 and the runner-up's was $1,500.
Meadowbrook Country Club is a country club in Northville Township, Wayne County, near Northville, Michigan. The idea for Meadowbrook Country Club, a private golf and social club, came about in 1916 when 23 Northville businessmen purchased 125 acres (0.51 km2) of the Fred C. Cochran Farm. The club was named after a brook, which ran through the property. Its golf course hosted the PGA Championship in 1955, won by Doug Ford. Willie Park, Jr is credited with designing the original Meadowbrook 6-hole course which are present-day holes #10, #11, #7, #2, #3, and #18.
The Detroit Golf Club is a private golf club located in Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan in the middle of a neighborhood area on north side of the city near the University of Detroit Mercy and Palmer Woods Historic District. Bert Way designed the original 6-hole course. It was expanded to 9 holes, and finally Donald Ross built the current 36-hole course. The club grounds crew maintains two courses, the North and the South Course. The head pro is Josh Upson. Starting in 2019, Detroit Golf Club began hosting the Rocket Mortgage Classic, a new annual PGA Tour event.

Kinloch Golf Club is a golf club in Manakin-Sabot, Virginia. The club was selected as Golf Digest's "Best New Course" the year it opened and has been on numerous "best of" lists in its 15 years of existence.
The Dominion Energy Charity Classic is a professional golf tournament in Virginia on the PGA Tour Champions, played at Country Club of Virginia in Henrico, Virginia. The inaugural edition was in November 2016. The event features a 72-player field competing for a $2.2 million purse, and is a no-cut 54-hole event.

Its James River Course, designed by William Flynn, opened in 1928; it has hosted many prominent events, including the 1955 and 1975 U.S. Amateurs and, since 2016, the annual Dominion Energy Charity Classic. A third course, the Tuckahoe Creek Course, opened in 1988.
