Mississippi State University for Agriculture and Applied Science, commonly known as Mississippi State University (MSU), is a public land-grant research university adjacent to Starkville, Mississippi. It is classified among "R1: Doctoral Universities – Very High Research Activity" and has a total research and development budget of $239.4 million, the largest in Mississippi.

The Malcolm S. Forbes Jr. '70 College is one of the seven residential colleges that house all freshmen and sophomores at Princeton University. One of the two first residential colleges at Princeton, it was originally called Princeton Inn College after the former hotel where it is housed. Following a gift to the school by Malcolm S. Forbes Sr. '41 in 1984 in honor of his son, Steve, the college was renamed Forbes. Steve's daughter, Catherine Forbes '99, was a member of Forbes College while attending Princeton.

Michigan State University Housing is a large and complex network of housing for students and faculty of Michigan State University. Most of the housing is in the form of residence halls on the school's campus, but there are also university apartments, fraternity and sorority housing, and free-standing housing for grad students, faculty and staff.
The University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee at Waukesha is a two-year college located in Waukesha, in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. There are currently 33 undergraduate residence halls at the University of Notre Dame, including 32 active residence halls and Zahm Hall, which serves as a transition dorm when residence halls undergo construction. Several of the halls are historic buildings which are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Each residence hall is single-sex, with 17 all-male residence halls and 15 all-female residence halls. Notre Dame residence halls feature a mixed residential college and house system, where residence halls are the center of the student life and some academic teaching; most students stay at the same hall for most of their undergraduate studies. Each hall has its own traditions, events, mascot, sports teams, shield, motto, and dorm pride. The university also hosts Old College, an undergraduate residence for students preparing for the priesthood.
Rice University contains eleven residential colleges which function as the primary housing, dining, and social organizations for undergraduate students. The system was established in 1957 and was inspired by the residential college systems at the University of Oxford and the University of Cambridge as well as the American adaptations of the same at Harvard and Yale. Each student is randomly affiliated with a residential college upon matriculation and becomes a lifetime member of the college. The residential college system takes the place of a Greek system and has contributed to a sense of community that other universities have sought to emulate.
Regents College is one of the eight residential colleges of Murray State University in Kentucky. The college was established in the fall of 1996 when Murray State became the first public university in the United States to establish a campus-wide residential college system. Regents College is named in honor of the outstanding citizens who have served on Murray State University's Board of Regents.
Clark College is one of the eight residential colleges of Murray State University. The college was established in the fall of 1996. The residential college of Lee Clark was named after the prominent farmer, businessman and statesman Mr. Lee Clark, who was a very active board member for 17 years during the formative years of Murray State University. Since the mid-1990s, students associated with Clark College have initiated some great traditions that continue to this day. The student designed Clark's flag that is based on the Clark family crest dating back some 400 years. The flag consists of a red cross on a gray background, which provides four quadrants. Three of these quadrants bear a symbol that supports the motto of Lee Clark College namely: "Building Community through Communication." In the bottom right quadrant is a yellow lamp representing knowledge; in the top right quadrant is a cross that symbolizes faith; in the top left quadrant is the Murray State University mascot, the Racer. The bottom left quadrant was left open as the early designers felt that later students would add their own symbol to the flag.
