Hiljaisuus (English transl. Silence) is a 2011 Finnish war docudrama film directed by Sakari Kirjavainen and set in winter and spring 1944, near the end of the Continuation War.
Starring Finnish actors Joonas Saartamo, Joanna Haartti, Lauri Tilkanen, Terhi Suorlahti, Ilkka Heiskanen, Sinikka Mokkila and Kari Hakala, the film details the life and times of the members of a specialized Finnish army unit, commanded by a priest, whose difficult and dangerous assignment is to recover dead soldiers from the front lines, prepare their often frozen bodies for burial, and deliver them to their hometowns and families for funeral and burial. The film covers the daily lives, romances, and intrigues of the soldiers and their civilian female helpers attached to the unit, including the extreme dangers connected with their jobs. Near the end of the film, the unit's field morgue is about to be overrun; and the soldiers must take quick action to save their own lives and evacuate the growing collection of dead soldiers the unit are preparing for their final resting places. Tuomas Riskala writes in Iltalehti, "Lauri Tilkanen and Joonas Saartamo do an impressive job in the lead roles" and "Director Sakari Kirjavainen and screenwriter Esko Salervo have created an intimate depiction of the war and the state of mind between life and death..." [2] Outi Heiskanen of Skenet opines, "The actors deserve all possible superlatives" and "Few films manage to create so strong and touching an atmosphere without falling victim to melodramatic excesses." The film was nominated for seven 2012 Jussi Awards, Finland's premier motion picture accolade; and won four: Joonas Saartamo, Paras miespääosa (Best Actor); Ilkka Heiskanen, Paras miessivuosa (Best Supporting Actor); Olli Huhtanen and Pietari Koskinen, Paras äänisuunnittelu (Best Sound Design); and Timo Hietala, Paras musiikki (Best Music). The Rasmus is a Finnish rock band that formed in 1994 in Helsinki while the band members were in upper comprehensive school. The original band members were Lauri Ylönen, Eero Heinonen (bass), Pauli Rantasalmi (guitar) and Jarno Lahti (drums). Jarno Lahti left the year after and was replaced by Janne Heiskanen in 1995. Heiskanen quit the band in 1999 and was soon replaced by Aki Hakala. Pauli Rantasalmi left the band and was replaced by guitarist Emilia "Emppu" Suhonen in 2022. Best known for their 2003 hit single "In the Shadows", the band has sold over 5 million albums worldwide and 350,000 albums in Finland alone, and has won numerous awards, both domestic and international. The band represented Finland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 with the song "Jezebel".
Vesa-Matti "Vesku" Loiri was a Finnish actor, musician and comedian, best known for his role as Uuno Turhapuro, whom he portrayed in a total of 20 movies between the years 1973 and 2004.

Jussi Tapani Jurkka was a Finnish actor. He was born into a family of actors. His parents, Eino Jurkka and Emmi Jurkka, were theatre leaders and actors. Also his brother Sakari Jurkka and sister Vappu Jurkka worked as actors, and so did his cousins Rauli Tuomi and Liisa Tuomi.
Wildeye, also known as Finland 1944, is a 2015 Finnish romantic war drama film directed by Antti Jokinen. It is an adaptation of Finnish author Katja Kettu's bestselling 2011 novel The Midwife (Kätilö) set before and during Lapland War. The film stars Krista Kosonen and Lauri Tilkanen with Pirkka-Pekka Petelius, Leea Klemola, Seppo Pääkkönen, Elina Knihtilä, Tommi Korpela, and Johannes Brotherus in supporting roles. The film tells the story about a love affair between a Lapp midwife and a SS officer set against the backdrop of the Lapland War, which opposed Finnish and German armies in 1944–45. Ilkka Untamo Järvi-Laturi was Finnish-born US-based film director whose best known film was Spy Games (1999) starring Bill Pullman and Irene Jacob. The film was shot in Helsinki, New York and Toronto. Järvi-Laturi had a cameo role in the film.
The Happiest Day in the Life of Olli Mäki is a 2016 Finnish biographical drama film co-written and directed by Juho Kuosmanen. It won the Un Certain Regard prize at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival. Previously adapted in 1955 and 1985, the World War II film is presented from the point of view of a machine gun company of the Finnish Army during the Continuation War between Finland and the Soviet Union from 1941 to 1944. It was the most expensive Finnish motion picture at its release with a budget of €7 million.
Deadwind is a Finnish crime drama and Nordic noir television series directed and created by Rike Jokela, starring Pihla Viitala, Lauri Tilkanen, Jani Volanen, and Tommi Korpela. It premiered in Finland in March 2018 on Yle TV2 and in August 2018 on Netflix. The show follows Sofia Karppi, a detective of the Finnish police who is recently widowed in her 30s with a young son and step-daughter living with her. She returns to police work in Helsinki, and her first case is the murder of Anna Bergdahl, a social affairs consultant.

Based on the novel Memory of Water by Emmi Itäranta, the film takes place in the dystopian future in the Scandinavian Union led by a military government, where there is a shortage of fresh water as a result of an environmental disaster. The film is starring by Saga Sarkola, Mimosa Willamo, Lauri Tilkanen, Pekka Strang and Minna Haapkylä.
