Hillsong NYC or Hillsong Church NYC is a Manhattan-based Christian church that is part of Hillsong Church based in Australia.

History

It was officially launched on October 17, 2010. [1] [2] It started meeting at Irving Plaza near Union Square.

Joel Houston, the eldest son of Global Senior Pastors Brian Houston and Bobbie Houston, [3] was involved in the development of the church location. The church was thrown into the spotlight with the November 2020 firing of former pastor Carl Lentz relating to infidelity and other areas of misconduct. [4]

The annual Hillsong Conferences was held for the first time in New York in 2013, and annually since, [5] using Barclays Center in Brooklyn, with a seating capacity of 17,000.

In February 2021, pastors Chrishan Jeyaratnam and Danielle Jeyaratnam were announced as the incoming new lead pastors, moving from their previous role as Western Australian state oversight, based in Perth. [6] [7]

The album was recorded during the 2015 Hillsong Conference at the Sydney SuperDome from 29 June until 3 July 2015 and was released on 16 October 2015, under Hillsong Music, Sparrow Records and Capitol Christian Music Group; this marks the first time the church's annual worship album was recorded entirely during the conference, as opposed to the annual July releases that coincide with the event. Michael Guy Chislett oversaw production of the album, while Hillsong senior pastor Brian Houston and his son, worship leader Joel Houston, served as executive producers.

The Peace Project is an album by Australian contemporary worship group Hillsong Worship and is the fifth Christmas-themed worship album from Hillsong Music, following We Have a Saviour (2012). Released on 20 October 2017 by Hillsong Music Australia and Capitol Christian Music Group, the album's production was spearheaded by Ben Tan and Michael Guy Chislett. The album was nominated for the GMA Dove Award for Christmas / Special Event Album of the Year at the 49th Annual GMA Dove Awards.

People is the fourteenth live album from Australian contemporary worship music band Hillsong United. It was released on 26 April 2019, through Hillsong Music and Capitol Christian Music Group. The writing process for the album involved biblical influences, having the role as worship music for Hillsong, and its musical style involves a youthful influence, with use of acoustic instruments within recording.
