The Himachal Pradesh Handball Association (HPHA) is an organisation which manages and controls the sport of Handball in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh.

Handball is a team sport in which two teams of seven players each pass a ball using their hands with the aim of throwing it into the goal of the other team. A standard match consists of two periods of 30 minutes, and the team that scores more goals wins.

Himachal Pradesh is a state in the northern part of India. At its southernmost point, it also touches the state of Uttar Pradesh. The state's name was coined by acharya Diwakar Dutt Sharma, one of the state's eminent Sanskrit scholars.

The Himachal Pradesh Handball Association (HPHA) is an organisation which govern and control the sport of handball in the state of Himachal Pradesh. HPHA is affiliated to Handball Federation of India. Team selected by the HPHA take part in National Championship held under the aegis of the Handball Federation of India. Himachal Pradesh Women And Junior Girls teams are currently Silver Medalists of National Championships.

Handball Federation of India

The Handball Federation of India, Rohtak (HFI) is the administrative and controlling body for handball and beach handball in Republic of India. HFI is registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 at Rohtak. HFI is a member of the Asian Handball Federation (AHF) and the International Handball Federation (IHF) since 1974. It is also a member of Commonwealth Handball Association and South Asian Handball Federation. Handball was founded in India by Choudhary Jagat Singh Lohan a Jat from Rohtak (Haryana) who was an alumnus of YMCA College of Physical Education of Madras. He was also the first Secretary General of HFI. In 2010, the federation elections were held under observers from the Sports Ministry as it had given prior intimation to the ministry about its Annual general meeting (AGM) and subsequent elections, this created a precedent for other sports federations in the country. Since 22 December 2013, Dr. M. Ramasubramani and Mr. Anandeshwar Pandey are President and Secretary General of HFI respectively.

Before the start of the first national club league, the National Football League, in 1996, the Santosh Trophy was considered the top domestic championship in India. Many players who have represented India internationally played and gained accolades while playing in the Santosh Trophy. The tournament is held every year with 31 teams who are divided into groups and who must qualify for the tournament proper through the preliminary round. The current champions are Services, who won their 6th title during the 2018–19 edition.

The African Handball Confederation, referring to a, is the administrative and controlling body for African team handball. Founded on 15 January 1973 after the 2nd All-Africa Games in Lagos (Nigeria), it represents the national handball associations of Africa under the supervision of the International Handball Federation (IHF).

Forests in the state of Himachal Pradesh currently cover an area of nearly 37,691 square kilometres (14,553 sq mi), which is about 38.3% of the total land area of the state. The forests were once considered to be the main source of income of the state and most of the original forests were clear felled. The emphasis has shifted, however, from exploitation to conservation. The state government aims to increase forest cover to 50% of the total land area. The All India Chess Federation for the Blind (AICFB) is the governing body for the game of Chess among visually impaired in India. It was formed in 1997 with a view to promoting the game of chess among the visually impaired all over the country. It is registered under Society Registration Act, 1860; Public Trust Act, 1951 and Income Tax Act, 1961 – Section 12A.

Vidya Stokes is an active member of Indian National Congress from 1970 and of Pradesh Congress Committee since 1974. She was an elected member of Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly in 1974, 1982, 1985, 1990, 1998, 2003, 2007 and in 2012. She is a member of the Indian National Congress. She didn't contest assembly election, 2017.

Indian National Basketball Championship for Women is a professional basketball tournament in India for women. This tournament is held by the Basketball Federation of India. The 61st Championship will be held in New Delhi in 2011. 23 states teams will participate in this tournament.

In India, Handball and Handball Federation of India was founded by Mr. Jagat Singh Lohan from Rohtak (Haryana) who was an alumnus of YMCA College of Physical Education of Madras. He was also the first Secretary General of Handball Federation of India. Mr. Jagat Singh Lohan was founder/father of Handball, Netball and Throwball games in India. His efforts in Germany during Munich Olympics helped in establishing Handball Federation of India. The Member States were Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Vidharbha and Jammu and Kashmir.

All India Peoples Science Network (AIPSN) is a National Network of Peoples Science Movements of India. It was established in the first All India Peoples Science Congress, organised in 1988 at Kannur in Kerala State. The attempt to establish a national platform for science organisations in India started in the late 1960s. Sushma Verma is an Indian cricketer. She started her national-level career as a wicket-keeper and right hand batswoman in the India women's national cricket team. She has played 30 ODI, 19 T20 and 01 Test matches till now.

The Handball Association of Maharashtra (HAM) is the administrative and controlling body for team handball in Maharashtra. The organisation is an affiliated member of the Handball Federation of India (HFI). HAM started the first ever Handball league in India known as Maha Handball Super League.
