Hippodrome Waregem (Dutch: Hippodroom van Waregem), located in Waregem, Belgium, is used for horse racing. It hosts the annual Great Flanders Steeple Chase, a steeplechase event. It has a capacity of 40,000 spectators.
Bredene is a municipality located in the Belgian province of West Flanders. The municipality only comprises the town of Bredene proper. On 1 January 2006, Bredene had a total population of 15,118. The total area is 13.08 km² which gives a population density of 1156 inhabitants per km².

Also in the seasons 2013–14 and 2017–18 they managed to play in the Europa League group stages. On both occasions the club ended third in their group.
Koninklijke Sportvereniging Waregem was a Belgian football club that existed between 1925 and 2001. It played three spells at the highest level in the Belgian football league system each separated by a single season at the second level: from 1966 to 1972, from 1973 to 1994 and in 1995–96. Their best ranking was reached in 1968, 1985 and 1993 when they finished fourth.
The Elindus Arena, formerly named the Regenboogstadion, is a stadium in Waregem, Belgium. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home ground of S.V. Zulte-Waregem. Regenboogstadion is Dutch for Rainbow Stadium. The stadium was named after the rainbow jersey worn by the cycling road world champions, since it was inaugurated to host the 1957 UCI Road World Championships. From the 2020-21 season however, the stadium name will change to Elindus Arena, after a local sponsor.

Standard Liège won the cup, beating Genk after extra time in the final. As the winner, Standard Liège provisionally qualified for the 2018–19 UEFA Europa League Group Stage but, as they finished 2nd in the Belgian Pro League, they participated in the 3rd qualification round of the Champions League.

KV Mechelen were the defending champions, but were unable to defend their title as the club got banned from the competition for one season after being found guilty of match-fixing as part of the 2017–19 Belgian football fraud scandal.
