Hisatake Sugi is a Japanese politician and a member of the House of Councillors of Japan.
In 1998,he graduated from Soka University. He worked as a Certified Public Accountant and in 2006,worked for Price WaterhouseCoopers. [1]
Politics of Japan are conducted in a framework of a dominant-party bicameral parliamentary constitutional monarchy,in which the Emperor is the head of state and the Prime Minister is the head of government and the head of the Cabinet,which directs the executive branch.
The National Diet is the national legislature of Japan. It is composed of a lower house,called the House of Representatives,and an upper house,the House of Councillors. Both houses are directly elected under a parallel voting system. In addition to passing laws,the Diet is formally responsible for nominating the Prime Minister. The Diet was first established as the Imperial Diet in 1890 under the Meiji Constitution,and took its current form in 1947 upon the adoption of the post-war constitution. Both houses meet in the National Diet Building in Nagatachō,Chiyoda,Tokyo.

The People's New Party was a Japanese political party formed on August 17,2005 in the aftermath of the defeat of Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi's Japan Post privatisation bills which led to a snap election. On March 21,2013,party leader Shozaburo Jimi announced that he was disbanding the party.

Satsuki Eda was a Japanese politician who was the first opposition member to serve as the President of the House of Councillors in Japan. Eda had served for three terms in the House of Councillors before his election as president on 7 August 2007,after the success of the Democratic Party in the July 2007 election for the Japanese House of Councillors. He had earlier served four terms in the House of Representatives of Japan. Eda was also the head of the Science and Technology Agency.

Takeshi Maeda is a Japanese politician of the Democratic Party of Japan,a former member of the House of Councillors in the Diet. A native of Yoshino District,Nara,he graduated from Kyoto University and received a master's degree from it. After serving in the House of Representatives for four terms,he was elected to the House of Councillors for the first time in 2004. In September 2011 he was appointed as Minister of Land,Infrastructure,Transport and Tourism in the cabinet of newly appointed prime minister Yoshihiko Noda. However,Maeda left the ministry the following year after a series of censure motions were passed by the House of Councillors in April 2012,which required prime minister Noda to dismiss both Maeda and the Minister of Defence Naoki Tanaka in order to get support from the opposition parties to pass his plan to increase Japan's consumption tax rate. Maeda retired from the House of Councillors after his term expired in 2016.
Masaaki Yamazaki is a Japanese politician who served as President of the House of Councillors from 2013 to 2016. A member of the Liberal Democratic Party,he has served as a member of the House of Councillors in the National Diet since 1992.
Shigefumi Matsuzawa is a Japanese politician and a current member of the House of Councillors for the Kanagawa at-large district in the Diet of Japan. A native of Kawasaki,Kanagawa and graduate of Keio University with a bachelor's degree in Political Science,he has previously served in the assembly of Kanagawa Prefecture for two terms from 1987 to 1993,in the House of Representatives in the Diet for three terms from 1993 to 2003 and as the governor of Kanagawa Prefecture from 2003 until 2011. He was elected to the House of Councillors in 2013 as a member of Your Party. Upon the dissolution of Your Party in November 2014 he joined the Party for Future Generations. He left the party in August 2015 and sat as an independent until becoming the leader of Kibōno Tōin May 2018. He resigned as leader on May 28,2019,and was succeeded by Nariaki Nakayama. He subsequently left the party and joined Nippon Ishin no Kai.
The Government of Japan consists of legislative,executive and judiciary branches and is based on popular sovereignty. The Government runs under the framework established by the Constitution of Japan,adopted in 1947. It is a unitary state,containing forty-seven administrative divisions,with the Emperor as its Head of State. His role is ceremonial and he has no powers related to Government. Instead,it is the Cabinet,comprising the Ministers of State and the Prime Minister,that directs and controls the Government and the civil service. The Cabinet has the executive power and is formed by the Prime Minister,who is the Head of Government. The Prime Minister is nominated by the National Diet and appointed to office by the Emperor.
