The Ronna and Eric Hoffman Gallery of Contemporary Art, [1] or simply Hoffman Art Gallery, [2] is an art gallery and building on the Lewis & Clark College campus, in Portland, Oregon. [3] The gallery opened in 1997. [2]

Sonya Clark is an American artist of Afro-Caribbean heritage. Clark is a fiber artist known for using a variety of materials including human hair and combs to address race, culture, class, and history. Her beaded headdress assemblages and braided wig series of the late 1990s, which received critical acclaim, evoked African traditions of personal adornment and moved these common forms into the realm of personal and political expression. Although African art and her Caribbean background are important influences, Clark also builds on practices of assemblage and accumulation used by artists such as Betye Saar and David Hammons.
Viola Frey was an American artist working in sculpture, painting and drawing, and professor emerita at California College of the Arts. She lived and worked in the San Francisco Bay Area and was renowned for her larger-than-life, colorfully glazed clay sculptures of men and women, which expanded the traditional boundaries of ceramic sculpture.
Tuajuanda C. Jordan has served as the seventh president of St. Mary’s College of Maryland since July 1, 2014. From 2006 to 2011, Jordan served as director of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute’s Science Education Alliance program, where she launched the SEA-PHAGES program. This program has been implemented at more than 100 institutions and resulted in numerous scientific and pedagogical publications. Prior to joining St. Mary’s College, Jordan also held a number of leadership positions in higher education, including dean of the College of Arts and Sciences and professor of chemistry at Lewis & Clark College in Oregon, and associate dean in the College of Arts and Sciences at Xavier University of Louisiana.

York: Terra Incognita is an outdoor monument by Alison Saar, installed near the Aubrey Watzek Library on the Lewis & Clark College campus, in Portland, Oregon. The brass sculpture commemorates York, an African-American explorer best known for his participation with the Lewis and Clark Expedition, and was dedicated on May 8, 2010. The 6-foot (1.8 m) statue rests on an approximately 2-foot (0.61 m) bronze base.
