HomeGoods is a chain of home furnishing stores headquartered in Framingham, Massachusetts. HomeGoods sells furniture, linens, cooking products, art, and other home accessories.
HomeGoods is owned by TJX Companies and is a sister company to T.J. Maxx, Sierra Trading Post, and Marshalls. The size of each store varies by location. [2] [1] There are locations in the United States that combine both the HomeGoods and the T.J. Maxx or Marshalls store brands in one building.
HomeGoods was founded in 1992 by TJX and grew to include hundreds of locations throughout the United States.
In Canada and Europe, the parent company of HomeGoods operates a similar home furnishing chain called HomeSense. In August 2017, TJX announced the opening of about 400 HomeSense stores across America. [3]
HomeGoods has an associated app called "HomeGoods" which allows customers to find locations near them, manage gift cards, manage their TJX Rewards Credit Card rewards and bill.

Northland Center was an enclosed shopping mall on an approximately 159-acre (64 ha) site located near the intersection of M-10 and Greenfield Road in Southfield, Michigan, an inner-ring suburb of Detroit, Michigan, United States. Construction began in 1952 and the mall opened on March 22, 1954. Northland was a milestone for regional shopping centers in the United States. Designed by Victor Gruen, the mall initially included a four-level Hudson's with a ring of stores surrounding it. As originally built, it was an open air pedestrian mall with arrayed structures. The mall was enclosed in 1975 and expanded several times in its history. Additions included five other department store anchors: J. C. Penney in 1975, MainStreet in 1985, and TJ Maxx, Target, and Montgomery Ward in the 1990s. Managed by Spinoso Real Estate Group, Northland Center featured approximately 100 stores. Macy's, the last anchor, closed on March 22, 2015, exactly 61 years to the date of the mall's opening. The mall was partially demolished in September 2021, and is currently being redeveloped as Northland City Center.
AJWright was a chain of about 129 American retail/outlet stores established in 1998 and owned by TJX Companies. Like its sister company T.J. Maxx, AJWright sold clothing, domestics, giftware, footwear, accessories, and fragrances at prices between twenty and seventy percent below regular prices. AJWright differed from other TJX chains by refreshing its merchandise on a regular basis. For most stores, new shipments arrived every weekday. In early 2011, TJX closed the chain's remaining stores and converted some stores to other TJX brands.
HomeSense is a Canadian chain of discount home furnishing stores owned by TJX Companies. It originated in Canada in 2001, and was expanded to Europe in 2008 and the United States in 2017. Off-price is a trading format based on discount pricing. Off-price retailers are independent of manufacturers and buy large volumes of branded goods directly from them. The off-price retail model relies on the purchase of over-produced, or excess, branded goods at a lower price, thus being able to sell to consumers at a discount compared to other stores which purchased an initial run. Among the largest retailers of this type are TJX Companies and Ross Stores. The model is more common in countries that import fashion-oriented or household goods, as the discount role in producer countries is usually filled by factory outlets or small-scale open-air marketplaces.
Trade Secret was a chain of clothing, accessories and home furnishing stores operated by TJX Companies and had 35 stores across Australia by April 2017. The stores were located in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Canberra, Newcastle, Wollongong, Cairns, Townsville, Toowoomba, Albury, the Sunshine Coast and the Gold Coast. On 3 February 2017, they announced on their website that they would soon be rebranding all existing locations as T.K. Maxx and opening new locations across the east coast. As of 20 April 2017 the stores were operating as T.K. Maxx.
City View Center was a power center in Garfield Heights, Ohio, east of Cleveland. Positioned to be a regional shopping destination with stores such as Walmart, Giant Eagle, Dick's Sporting Goods and Bed Bath & Beyond, the development intended to increase Garfield Heights' commercial base soon developed into a modern dead mall, being built on landfill which soon liquified and caused damage to its buildings, along with fears of methane gas remaining unvented beneath the site which then caused multiple stores to close and abandon the center. A second phase that would have included The Home Depot, JCPenney, Panera, Chick-fil-A, Buffalo Wild Wings, Dollar Tree, and a Dental was never built, with those retailers fearing a redux of Phase I of the development. The shopping center underwent redevelopment, completing the process by 2021.
