Drum and bass is a genre of electronic dance music characterised by fast breakbeats with heavy bass and sub-bass lines, samples, and synthesizers. The genre grew out of the UK's rave scene in the 1990s.

They are considered to be one of the pioneers of the South African drum and bass scene. Counterstrike are known for their composition of raw, high-energy sound inspired by metal, techno and early techstep.

Human Imprint Recordings is an American drum and bass record label founded by Damian Higgins in New York City in 2002. Human began as a subsidiary of System Recordings and is mostly known for high energy releases in subgenres including techstep, hardstep and darkstep. In July 2009, Human Imprint parted ways amicably with System Recordings, and Dieselboy created the SubHuman : Human Imprint for dubstep and electro releases.
Pendulum is an Australian electronic rock band founded in 2002. Pendulum originally formed in the city of Perth, Western Australia, by Rob Swire, Gareth McGrillen and Paul "El Hornet" Harding. The band was later expanded to include members Ben Mount, Peredur ap Gwynedd and KJ Sawka. Members Swire and McGrillen also formed the electro house duo Knife Party. The group is notable for its distinctive sound, mixing electronic music with hard rock and covering a wide range of genres.

Robert Swire-Thompson is an Australian musician, singer, songwriter, record producer and DJ, best known as the founder and vocalist of the drum and bass and electronic rock band Pendulum, as well as DJ and co-founder of electro house duo Knife Party formed of Swire and Gareth McGrillen. Originally from Perth, Western Australia, he relocated to the United Kingdom in 2003 with fellow Pendulum co-founders Gareth McGrillen and Paul "El Hornet" Harding. Swire has since fulfilled a broad spectrum of roles as a member of Pendulum, ranging from songwriting to singing while performing live with an unusual guitar-like MIDI controller – Starr Labs' Ztar Z6S-XPA. Swire also plays guitar, bass, keyboards, percussion, and other instruments. He is sometimes referred to by the stage name Anscenic.

Pirate Station is the world's biggest drum and bass music festival. It's held every year since 2003, when St. Petersburg held the first event. It has spread to the biggest Russian cities and has also taken place in Estonia and Ukraine, which makes Pirate Station the biggest Russian dance project ever. Almost half a million people visited the festival during these years. The main St. Petersburg show hosts more than 25,000 fans annually. Live at Brixton Academy is the first live album by the Australian electronic rock and drum and bass band Pendulum, recorded live at the Brixton Academy in London, England and released on 12 June 2009 by Warner Bros. Records, Earstorm and Breakbeat Kaos. It was produced by Mike Downs and directed by Paul Caslin. The concert features live footage filmed by 12 fans. Six tracks on the DVD extra are fan only edits, with an audience heavy 5.1 remix. The live album was available for pre-order on 8 June 2009, just a week before its release. On 9 June 2009 a special premiere of the live show was put on in an exclusive theater which Pendulum attended. Both the audio CD and DVD contain their live cover of Metallica's Master of Puppets.

Immersion is the third studio album by Australian band Pendulum. The album was announced in early 2009, with the name being confirmed in December 2009. The album was released on 21 May 2010 in Australia and Ireland, and on 24 May for the rest of the world, followed by a UK tour of the album. In January 2010, Pendulum hosted the album preview Ear Storm event at Matter in London in which many top DJs performed sets of their own with Pendulum being the headliners.

A remix with Mikey Rukus to his original Revelation was used as the theme song of the All Elite Wrestling pay-per-view Revolution in 2020.
Nanotek, born Mark Christiansen, is an international drum and bass and dubstep producer and DJ from Wellington, New Zealand. Nanotek gained international recognition in 2007 with releases on darkstep labels such as Freak Recordings and Obscene Recordings. More recent projects include collaborations with artists such as Counterstrike, Current Value and Gein as well as Christiansen's first release on his self-titled label, Nanotek.
Mango Groove is the self-titled debut album of Mango Groove, a South African pop fusion band whose sound is influenced by township music. Seven of the eleven songs on the album were released as singles. The album sold extremely well, breaking national sales records and maintaining a high rank in the radio charts for a year. The band dedicated the album to Mickey Vilakazi, a bandmate who died in June 1988.
Black Midi are an English rock band from London, formed in 2017 and currently consisting of Geordie Greep, Cameron Picton, and Morgan Simpson (drums). The trio have been frequently joined by Seth Evans and Kaidi Akinnibi (saxophone) in both studio and live performances since 2020. Their name is derived from the Japanese electronic music genre black MIDI, though their own music has no relation to it, instead incorporating styles such as math rock, progressive rock, post-punk, and avant-jazz.
