Homer High School is located in Homer, Alaska. It is part of the Kenai Peninsula Borough School District. The school's mascot is a mariner, usually represented by a wheel or sometimes an anchor.
According to the Kenai Peninsula Borough School District website, [2] in 2010, the student body consisted of 320 Caucasian students, 22 Alaska Native students, 13 Hispanic students, 2 African American students, 11 Asian Pacific Islander students and 7 multi-ethnic students.

There is a 41-foot sperm whale skeleton displayed in the commons of Homer High School. The skeleton was collected from East Chugach Island in 1988. [3]
Attached to Homer High School is the Kate Kuhns Aquatic Center, which has a 25-yard, 6-lane indoor pool. The facility also includes two low dives, a handicap access stairwell and a shallow-end splash slide.
The Mariner Theater is located adjacent to Homer High School's commons. Community and school sponsored productions take place at the theater.

Kachemak Bay Campus (KBC) is a campus of Kenai Peninsula College, which is a unit of the University of Alaska Anchorage. Located in Homer, KBC has a student population of about 500. The college was formerly divided into two campuses, referred to as east and west campuses respectively. The college had proposed purchasing Homer's city hall, which is adjacent to the east campus, in order to consolidate their facilities, but this would have been part of a larger project to build a new city hall and a town square in Homer, and the plan was rejected by voters. The college eventually decided to build an entirely new facility on the existing campus property. The new facility, known as Bayview Hall opened after spring break in 2011. The hall is 7,000 square feet (650 m2) and cost 2.5 million dollars to construct. It contains new classrooms, faculty offices, and a multi purpose "learning center."
Soldotna High School is a public high school serving grades 9–12 in Soldotna, Alaska. The school's primary objective is to prepare students for college and career opportunities. The school colors are silver and blue, and the mascot is a star. Approximately 720 students are currently enrolled. Kachemak Selo is a small unincorporated community in Kenai Peninsula Borough, Alaska, United States. Located on the Kenai Peninsula, it lies roughly 30 miles east of Homer. The community is one of several settlements of Russian Old Believers in the Fox River area. There are about 160 residents. The only land access is by driving east of Homer to Voznesenka and descending a steep switchback trail to the beach, then traveling about 1 mile up the beach to reach Kachemak Selo.
Razdolna is a small unincorporated community in Kenai Peninsula Borough, Alaska, United States. Located on the Kenai Peninsula, it lies roughly 30 miles east of Homer. The community is one of several settlements of Russian Old Believers in the Fox River area. There are about 30 families in Razdolna. In 2009 the Mile 17 fire threatened the hamlet.
Jakolof Bay is an unincorporated community in Kenai Peninsula Borough, Alaska, United States. As of the 2000 Census, the population was 40. The location of this community is south of the city of Seldovia, across Kachemak Bay from Homer. Jakolof Bay is connected by road with Seldovia but neither community is otherwise accessible by road to the outside world. There is a rough gravel airstrip on the beach which is underwater during some high tides. Jakolof Bay was recognized as a census-designated place in the 1980 Census.
