William Joel MacDonald Plaskett is a Canadian rock musician and songwriter based in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He was a member of Halifax alternative rock band Thrush Hermit in the 1990s. Plaskett performs in a number of genres, from blues and folk to hard rock, country, and pop.
Kids on TV was a Canadian punk-house queercore band from Toronto, active from 2003 to 2013. The group consisted of John Caffery on bass and vocals, Minus Smile on drums, electronics and vocals, Chris 'Wolf' Mills on guitar and vocals, and Roxanne Luchak on keyboard and vocals. The band was known for performing outside of the usual venues, and appeared at warehouses, steambaths and film festivals, among other places.
Wintersleep is a Canadian indie rock band formed in Halifax, Nova Scotia in 2001. Based in Halifax, the band's original lineup consisted of lead vocalist and guitarist Paul Murphy, guitarist and keyboardist Tim d'Eon, and drummer Loel Campbell. In 2002, Jud Haynes joined the band as bass guitarist until 2007. In 2005, Mike Bigelow joined the band as a keyboardist until 2006, when he then acted as a bass guitarist from 2007 to 2016. Since 2006, Jon Samuel has served as a backing vocalist, keyboardist and guitarist while has Chris Bell served as a backing vocalist and bass guitarist since 2016. Bigelow returned to the band in 2021.

Hey Rosetta! is a Canadian seven-piece indie rock band from St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador and led by singer/songwriter Tim Baker. Known for their energized live shows, the band created a large, layered sound by incorporating piano, violin, cello, and brass into the traditional four-piece rock setup. On October 13, 2017, the group announced via a lengthy Facebook post that they would be taking an indefinite hiatus.

An independent artist who self-releases his albums, Myles has been able to gain an increasingly large audience, in part because of his active touring schedule and in part because of his cross-genre musical collaborations, which include a single made with the rapper Classified that became the biggest-selling rap single in the history of Canadian music.
Rah Rah was an indie rock musical group formed in 2006 in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. They toured extensively across North America and Europe. The band released four full-length albums, including 2015's Vessels. After a three year hiatus, the band played three final live shows in December of 2019 and disbanded.

Drummer Rob Chursinoff left in 2014; drummer and guitarist Alex Andrew left in 2018. For a short time, bassist Ian Cook and trumpeter Andrew Lee were also part of the band. The name is a play on the literal translation, from German, of Glockenspiel.

Cœur de pirate began her career in 2007 as the keyboardist for the band Bonjour Brumaire. Mo Kenney is a Canadian singer/songwriter based in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Catching the ear of noted Canadian rocker Joel Plaskett while still in school, Kenney released their first album in 2012, which Plaskett produced. Kenney is known for their lyrical prowess and engaging stage presence. Called "Nova Scotia's rising star" by The Scene magazine, they have toured with Plaskett as well as with Ron Sexsmith. In 2013, their song "Sucker" won the prestigious SOCAN Songwriting Prize.
The Beat Stuff is the debut six track EP by Canadian singer-songwriter Hannah Georgas. Originally released independently in 2008 as a five-song release, the EP was later picked up by Hidden Pony Records, which released a new edition in early 2009 with the extra track "Gabriella".
