Hostel is 2013 coming of age comedy Nepali film directed by Hem Raj BC. [1] and produced by Sunil Rawal under Durgish Films. The film launched second generation faces in the film industry including Anmol K.C., Gaurav Pahadi, Salon Basnet, Prakriti Shrestha, Rishta Basnet.. [2] The film tells the story of three friends and their life as a student in medical college.
The film met with positive response from critics and audience and was a huge success at the box office and went on to become one of the highest grossing Nepali films then. The film had two spiritual sequels, Hostel 2 which was big success as well and Hostel 3, set to be released in 2024
After the successful screening of Saayad, Sunil Rawal launched new faces through this film, who were highly appreciated among public.[ citation needed ]

Chino is a Nepali action drama film written and directed by Tulsi Ghimire. The film featured an ensemble cast of Shiva Shrestha, Bhuwan K.C., Sunil Thapa, Kristi Mainali, Sharmila Malla, Subhadra Adhikari, Shravan Ghimire, Sinaura Mistry, Anoop Malla and Sushila Raymajhi. "Melancholy" is an environmentally-themed song sung by 365 Nepali artists. This song was intended to promote an environmental message by breaking the Guinness World Records for "Most Vocal Solos in a Song Recording", which it successfully did. It was written, music composed and directed by environmentalist Nipesh Dhaka. The song was recorded as a single on 19 May 2016. The recording sessions were inaugurated by Prime Minister Khadga Prasad Oli at 8 am and continued until 6 pm. The song was released on 2 September 2017 by President Bidya Devi Bhandari at Army Officer's Club, Kathmandu.

He made his directorial debut in 2012 with the crime-thriller Loot and wrote screenplay for the film. The film focuses on Hakku Kale, who masterminds a bank robbery. In the film, Basnet plays Bibek, who tries to abduct a gangster's daughter. The same year, Basnet directed the dark comedy Talakjung vs Tulke. The film is set during the Nepalese Civil War, which lasted from 1996 to 2006. Basnet won the Film Critics Society of Nepal Award for Best Director and the National Film Award for Best Director. Talakjung vs Tulke was selected as the Nepalese entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 88th Academy Awards, but it was not nominated.

The movie met with mixed to negative reviews from critics but positive response from audience. The film was a commercial success at the box office collecting more than 7 million Nepali rupees.Filmmakers expressed grievances towards distributors for lowering the film's showtimes in order to provide more screens for K.G.F: Chapter 2.
