Rotterdam is the second largest city and municipality in the Netherlands. It is in the province of South Holland, part of the North Sea mouth of the Rhine–Meuse–Scheldt delta, via the "New Meuse" inland shipping channel, dug to connect to the Meuse first, but now to the Rhine instead.

Bellingwedde was a municipality with a population of data missing in the province Groningen in the northeast of the Netherlands. Bellingwedde was established in 1968, when the municipalities of Bellingwolde and Wedde had merged. It contained the villages Bellingwolde, Blijham, Oudeschans, Veelerveen, Vriescheloo, and Wedde. After almost 50 year, Bellingwedde was disestablished in 2018, when the municipalities of Bellingwedde and Vlagtwedde had merged into Westerwolde.

Hoek van Holland Haven is a metro station on Line B of the Rotterdam Metro, in Hook of Holland, Rotterdam, South Holland. Trains connect with the Stena Line Dutchflyer boat service to Harwich International in England. Until 1 April 2017, it was a railway station served by Nederlandse Spoorwegen. On 30 September 2019, it reopened as the western terminus of RET Metro Line B. Work is underway to extend the line further west to a new Hoek van Holland Strand station and to relocate the platforms to the northwest of their current location along the historical building, so that they are on the new section of the line.
Albert Frederik Aalbers was a Dutch architect who created elegant villas, hotels and office buildings in Bandung, Indonesia during Dutch colonial rule in the 1930s. Albert Aalbers worked in the Netherlands between 1924 and 1930 and then migrated to the Dutch East Indies after which he returned to the Netherlands in 1942 due to World War II and political circumstances following Indonesian independence. During his stay in Bandung, in a period when the city was dubbed the city of architecture laboratory, a number of his buildings were considered architectural masterpieces. Aalbers' style was inspired by expressionist Frank Lloyd Wright and modernist Le Corbusier. In Bandung, the DENIS bank in Braga Street and the Savoy Homann Hotel in Asia-Afrika Street, still carry Aalber's ocean wave ornamentation.

Kunstinstituut Melly is a contemporary art gallery located in a former school building on Witte de Withstraat, in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. It was founded in 1990 and originally named after the street it was located on. It presents curated exhibitions, symposiums, live events, educational programs, and has a separate art literature publishing arm.
The Schiedam–Hoek van Holland railway is a former railway line and current rapid transit line of the Rotterdam Metro between Schiedam and Hook of Holland along the Nieuwe Maas, in the west of the Netherlands. The line is also an important freight railway, it is 24 kilometres long.
SS Veendam was a 15,450 GRT ton ocean liner built for the Holland America Line. Built in 1922 by Harland & Wolff Limited, in Govan, Glasgow, she would operate on transatlantic routes between New York and Rotterdam via the Caribbean Sea. In 1941 she was seized by the Kriegsmarine as an accommodation ship and in 1945 after heavy damage, she was returned to her former owners the Holland America Line. She would go on to serve for another eight years before she was scrapped in 1953 at Baltimore, Maryland. She was the sister ship of SS Volendam.
