In professional ice hockey, a Hughes Bowl refers to a match where Quinn Hughes plays a match against his brothers Jack Hughes and Luke Hughes of the New Jersey Devils. Quinn Hughes played for the Vancouver Canucks prior to late 2025, and for the Minnesota Wild since then. Quinn and Luke play as defensemen, while Jack serves as a center.

History of Hughes Bowls

As of 2026, three Hughes Bowls involving all three brothers have occurred; the Devils have won all three of these matches. [2]

Hughes Bowl (2023)

The first three-brother Hughes Bowl occurred on December 6, 2023 between the Vancouver Canucks and New Jersey Devils. [3] The New Jersey Devils won 6–5 against the Canucks. Jack and Luke Hughes each scored a goal, and Jack assisted on two further goals. On the other hand, Quinn Hughes assisted on two Canucks goals during a third-period push to tie the game. [4]

Hughes Bowl 2.0 (2024)

Hughes Bowl (2025)

A match between the Canucks and the Devils on March 24, 2025 was dubbed a Hughes Bowl by Pucks & Pitchforks, even though Jack Hughes was absent due to injury. The Canucks won 4–3 in a shootout. [5]

Hughes Bowl 3 (2026)

Hughes Bowl 3 occurred on January 12, 2026 between the Minnesota Wild and New Jersey Devils. It is the first Hughes Bowl since Quinn Hughes was traded to the Wild by the Canucks. [1] The Devils defeated the Wild 5–2. None of the three brothers scored a goal, although Jack Hughes recorded an assist on one of Jesper Bratt's goals. [2]
