REO Speedwagon is an American rock band from Champaign, Illinois. Formed in 1967, the band cultivated a following during the 1970s and achieved significant commercial success throughout the 1980s. The group's best-selling album, Hi Infidelity (1980), contained four US top 40 hits and sold more than 10 million copies.

The band's name comes from the title of a novel by Irving Shulman. In the UK, the group's records were released under the name of The American Amboy Dukes, because of the existence of a British group with the same name. The band went through a number of personnel changes during its active years, the only constant being lead guitarist and composer Ted Nugent. The band transitioned to being Nugent's backing band before he discontinued the name in 1975.

Too Hot to Sleep is the seventh album from rock band Survivor, released in 1988. It was a relative commercial disappointment, reaching only #187 on the Billboard album charts, though "Across The Miles" is one of their biggest AC chart hits. After this album, founders Frankie Sullivan and Jim Peterik put the band on indefinite hiatus, while lead vocalist Jimi Jamison would continue to tour under the Survivor name. Drummer Marc Droubay and bassist Stephen Ellis were replaced by studio musicians on the album. This album marks the final Survivor release to feature Peterik. The lineup of Sullivan and Jamison would not reunite until 2000.
Vital Signs is the fifth studio album by American rock band Survivor and their first with vocalist Jimi Jamison released on August 1, 1984. Although Jamison did not sound much like Dave Bickler, the album was their second most successful in the U.S., reaching #16 on the Billboard Album charts and being certified platinum by the RIAA. The album includes singles "I Can't Hold Back" which peaked at #13 on Billboard Hot 100 chart, "High on You" reached #8, "The Search Is Over" #4 and "First Night" #53.
Theodore Anthony Nugent is an American singer, songwriter, guitarist and activist. He initially gained fame as the lead guitarist and occasional lead vocalist of The Amboy Dukes, a band formed in 1963 that played psychedelic rock and hard rock. After dissolving the band, he embarked on a solo career. Nugent is known for his Gibson Byrdland, his bluesy and frenzied guitar playing and his energetic live shows. Despite possessing a distinctive, wide-ranging singing voice, Nugent recorded and toured with other lead singers during much of his early solo career, including Derek St. Holmes, Charlie Huhn, Brian Howe and Meat Loaf, only taking on full lead vocal duties later on. His biggest hit was 1977's "Cat Scratch Fever," on which he sang the lead vocals. In the late 1980s and early 1990s, he was part of the supergroup Damn Yankees.

When Love Comes Down is the first solo studio album from the former Survivor lead singer Jimi Jamison released on July 9, 1991 on Scotti Brothers and Top Notch Records. It featured the singles "Taste of Love", "Rock Hard" and the album's title track. The album was anticipated to perform better than Survivor's Too Hot to Sleep but only managed marginal success, featuring a couple singles that appeared in movies and TV series soundtracks.
