Hygerta Sako is an Albanian sports journalist at RTSH and former model who won Miss Albania [1] in 1995 and represented Albania at Miss Europe 1996 where she placed among the semifinalists. [2]

Miss Globe is the world's oldest major international beauty contest, ranked seventh in the world for women at the international level, held annually since 1925 under the name Dream Girl International or Boston Globe. By 1975, it was renamed Miss Globe. The contest is officially headquartered in Albania. The first winner of Miss Globe International called "Dream Girl International" in 1925 was identified as Alma F. Cavagnaro from the United States. MISS GLOBE originated from a competition held at the Emek Cinema in the Beyoğlu district of Istanbul in 1925. This competition was conceived by one of the cinema's directors, Alen Mouradian. The contest was organized to increase the interest of cinema audiences. Arak Çetin became the owner of the crown and the first Miss Globe title. However, newspapers and magazines wrote news that the competition was unfair. On that basis, they argue that Arak Çetin was favored not because of his beauty and knowledge but because he worked as a showman in the cinema. The Albanian State Police is the national police and law enforcement agency which operates throughout the Republic of Albania. The collapse of the Communist system and the establishment of political pluralism post-1991 brought important changes to the structure of the Albanian Police. The Ministry of Public Order and the General Directorate of Police were established in April 1991, and the new law of July 1991 established the Public Order Police. Nearly 80% of police manpower, i.e. personnel who had served under the previous system, were replaced by new recruits. On 4 November 1991, the Albanian Police was accepted as a member of Interpol. The emergency number is 129.

Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people in Albania face legal challenges not experienced by non-LGBT residents, although LGBT people are protected under comprehensive anti-discrimination legislation. "Feel the Passion" is a song by Albanian singer Aurela Gaçe. It was issued as a CD single on 15 April 2011 by EMI. The English-language pop and rock song was composed by Shpëtim Saraçi and written by Sokol Marsi. An accompanying music video premiered on the official YouTube channel of the Eurovision Song Contest on 16 March 2011. The song represented Albania in the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 in Düsseldorf, Germany, after Gaçe won the pre-selection competition Festivali i Këngës with the Albanian-language version "Kënga ime". It failed to qualify for the grand final in fourteenth place marking the country's third non-qualification in the contest. During her show, Gaçe was accompanied by three backing vocalists and two instrumentalists, while the Albanian theme was visually amplified by the wings of a white and red coloured eagle on the LED screens.

Miss Europe 1999, was 53rd edition of the Miss Europe pageant and 42nd under the Mondial Events Organization. It was held in Beirut, Lebanon on 25 June 1999. Yelena Rogozhina of Russia, was crowned Miss Europe 1999 by out going titleholder Isabelle Darras of Greece.

Donald Suxho is an Albanian-American professional volleyball player and a player for the U.S. Olympic Team. As a setter, he participated in the 2004 Olympic games in Athens, Greece as well as the 2012 Olympic Games in London. Suxho and his family came to America in 1996 and lived in Natick, Massachusetts while searching for a college. He eventually chose to play for the University of Southern California and became one of the most well-known volleyball players to come out of USC.

Miss Europe 1996 was the 51st edition of the Miss Europe pageant and the 40th edition under the Mondial Events Organization. It was held in Tirana, Albania on 28 September 1996. Marie-Claire Harrison of England, was crowned Miss Europe 1996 by out going titleholder Monika Žídková of the Czech Republic.

Miss Grand Albania is an Albanian female beauty pageant founded in 2014 by a Pristina-based event organizer chaired by Sherif Pacolli, Lens Production. In 2018, the competition license was later transferred to the modeling agency managed by Aleks Tanushi, Aleks Fashion Events (A.F.E.), and its headquarters was also relocated to Tirana. The pageant winner represents the country at its international parent contest, Miss Grand International.
