Hyperion Ensemble is a chamber music ensemble from Romania, based in Bucharest. It was founded in 1976 by composer Iancu Dumitrescu and specializes in the performance of contemporary classical music, more particular it is the main promoter in Romania of the Spectral Music trend. Hyperion performed all over the world, and premiered the major works of Iancu Dumitrescu and Ana-Maria Avram Hyperion Ensemble's performances are hyper-spectralist, transformational and acousmatic. Hyperion Ensemble realized many broadcastings for Radio Shows and a lot of LPs and Compact-Disc, particularly the 24 CD series with Dumitrescu and Avram's music.

Avram Iancu was a Transylvanian Romanian lawyer who played an important role in the local chapter of the Austrian Empire Revolutions of 1848–1849. He was especially active in the Țara Moților region and the Apuseni Mountains. The rallying of peasants around him, as well as the allegiance he paid to the Habsburg got him the moniker Crăișorul Munților.
Timothy "Tim" George Hodgkinson is an English experimental music composer and performer, principally on reeds, lap steel guitar, and keyboards. The majority of the population (96%) in Avram Iancu village is Romanian. Overall, the commune is 74.7% Romanian, 15.6% Roma and 9.6% Hungarian. The architecture of the commune is typical for a Romanian field village: the main street traverses the village, houses being equally distributed along it.

Avram Iancu Square is a central plaza in the Romanian city of Cluj-Napoca. It is connected to the Unirii Square through the Eroilor and "21 Decembrie 1989" avenues. Its most prominent building is the Dormition of the Theotokos Cathedral, although the plaza also houses the Wagner Gyula's eclectic Palace of Justice, the Lucian Blaga National Theatre and the headquarters of the County Prefecture.

He has studied photography with Mimmo Jodice and visual art with Carlo Alfano, Armando De Stefano and Rosa Panaro. He is a self-taught musician/composer and teaches "electronic music" at Conservatory of Music, Napoli, Italy. His compositional aesthetics are derived from acousmatic issues, but in addition to acousmatic composition he composes for instruments and live electronics, sound installation, multi-media works, audiovisual art and computer music improvisation. He lives in Napoli, Italy.
Avram Iancu Solar Park, a large thin-film photovoltaic (PV) power system, is being built on a 5 ha plot of land near the Avram Iancu commune in Romania. The power plant will be a 3-megawatt solar power system using state-of-the-art thin film technology, and should be finished by the end of 2012. The solar park is expected to supply 2,000 MWh of electricity per year.
Lake Avram Iancu-Ocnița is a natural salt lake in the town of Ocna Sibiului, Sibiu County, Transylvania, Romania. It is one of the many lakes of the Ocna Sibiului mine, a large salt mine which has one of the largest salt reserves in Romania. The lake is the result of the lakes Avram Iancu and Ocnița merging into a single lake.
