IAG New Zealand (IAG NZ) is the New Zealand subsidiary of Insurance Australia Group. It is the largest general insurance company in New Zealand, just as its parent is the largest in Australia. It has a number of insurance brands it has acquired, including AMI Insurance, NZI and State Insurance. [1] Its head office is in Auckland, New Zealand, and it has several offices throughout the country.

SGIO (Western Australia) Insurance brand in Western Australia

SGIO is an insurance brand of Insurance Australia Group trading in Western Australia. SGIO stands for State Government Insurance Office and started up in 1926. This company currently provides both personal and commercial insurances but initially provided workers compensation insurance in Western Australia. The personal and commercial insurances that the State Government Insurance Office provides includes car insurance, motorcycle insurance, home insurance, business insurance, travel insurance, boat insurance and caravan insurance. ERS (insurance company)

ERS is a specialist motor insurer. It has been providing insurance products for more than 70 years and now provides cover solely via Lloyd's Syndicate 218. ERS offers a diverse range of products, including private car, classic car, van, motorcycle, taxi, minibus, fleet, haulage, agricultural vehicle and motor breakdown.

Founded in 1921 as Australian Guarantee Company to initially provide finance for purchasers of smaller household items, it progressed into financing motor vehicles and was renamed as Australian Guarantee Corporation (AGC) in 1925. AGC was Australia's oldest national finance company offering a range of finance, investment and insurance products and were market leaders in equipment finance, cashflow finance, motor vehicle and personal finance.

Australia's insurance market can be divided into roughly three components: life insurance, general insurance and health insurance. AMI Insurance

AMI Insurance began in Christchurch, New Zealand, in 1926 as the South Island Motor Union (SIMU), and grew to be the second biggest residential insurer in New Zealand. It was a mutual insurance company, meaning it was owned by its policy holders, until it was bought out by IAG New Zealand in 2011, following the 2011 Christchurch earthquake.
