The Monobob competition at the IBSF World Championships 2021 was held on 13 and 14 February 2021. [1] [2] This was the introduction of the Women's Monobob event to the World Championships.

Results

The first two runs were started on 13 February at 09:00 [3] and the last two runs on 14 February at 09:00. [4]

Kaillie Humphries is a Canadian and American bobsledder. Representing Canada, she was the 2010 and 2014 Olympic champion in the two-woman bobsled and the 2018 Olympic bronze medalist with brakewoman Phylicia George. With her victory in 2014, she became the first female bobsledder to defend her Olympic title and was named flagbearer for the Olympic closing ceremony with brakewoman Heather Moyse.

The men's luge at the 2010 Winter Olympics took place on 13–14 February 2010 at the Whistler Sliding Centre in Whistler, British Columbia. Germany's Felix Loch was the two-time defending world champion and won the gold medal with the fastest time in each of the four runs. The test event that took place at the venue was won by Germany's David Möller, who would win the silver medal in this event. Italy's Armin Zöggeler was the two-time defending Olympic champion and won a bronze medal in this event. The last World Cup event prior to the 2010 games took place in Cesana, Italy on 30 January 2010 and was won by Zöggeler, who also won the overall World Cup title.

The 2020–21 Bobsleigh World Cup was a multi-race series over a season for bobsleigh. The season started on 21 November 2020 in Sigulda, Latvia and finished on Innsbruck-Igls, Austria on 31 January 2021. The season sponsor is BMW.

The 2021 IBSF World Championships was held in Altenberg, Germany from 5 to 14 February 2021. They were originally awarded to Lake Placid but were moved because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Laura Nolte</span> German bobsledder (born 1998)

Laura Nolte is a German bobsleigh pilot, who began competing for the national team in 2015 and won the gold medal in the two-woman bobsleigh event at the 2022 Winter Olympics, becoming the youngest in bobsleigh history to win the title. In 2023 she has become the first European to win the Monobob World Champion title at the Sankt Moritz World Championships, while being also the winner of the 2023 European Monobob Champion title in Altenberg, Germany. In 2021, she won the gold medal in the two-woman event at the IBSF European Championships 2021 held in Winterberg, Germany. In the same season, she also won the gold medal in the two-woman event at the IBSF Junior World Championships 2021 held in St. Moritz, Switzerland.

The Netherlands competed at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, China, from 4 to 20 February 2022.

The women's monobob competition in bobsleigh at the 2022 Winter Olympics was held on 13 February and 14 February, at the Xiaohaituo Bobsleigh and Luge Track in Yanqing District of Beijing. This was the inaugural monobob competition at the Olympics. Kaillie Humphries of the United States won the event. She was the 2018 two-woman bobsleigh champion, but at that time she represented Canada. Elana Meyers Taylor, also of the United States, won the silver medal, and Christine de Bruin of Canada bronze, her first Olympic medal.

The boys' monobob competition of the bobsleigh events at the 2016 Winter Youth Olympics was held at the Lillehammer Olympic Bobsleigh and Luge Track, on 20 February. 15 athletes from 15 different countries took part in this event.

Breeana "Bree" Walker is an Australian bobsledder. She started as a hurdler and switched to bobsledding in 2016. In 2018–19 she made her debut in the Bobsleigh World Cup. She won several monobob competitions.

The 2022–23 Bobsleigh World Cup was a multi-race series over a season for bobsleigh. The season started in Whistler, Canada on 26 November 2022 and ended in Sigulda, Latvia on 19 February 2023. The season sponsor was BMW.

The Monobob competition at the IBSF World Championships 2023 was held on 28 and 29 January 2023.

The Para-bobsleigh competition at the IBSF World Championships 2023 was held on 2 and 3 February 2023.

The 2023–24 Bobsleigh World Cup(official: BMW IBSF Bobsleigh World Cup) is a multi-race series over a season of bobsleigh, organised by International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation (IBSF).

The Monobob competition at the IBSF World Championships 2024 was held on 24 and 25 February 2024.
