Zemfira Talgatovna Ramazanova is a Russian rock musician. She has been performing since 1998 and has been popular in Russia and other former Soviet republics. To date Zemfira has sold over 3 million records.

"The Tale of the Priest and of his Workman Balda" is a fairy tale in verse by Alexander Pushkin. Pushkin wrote the tale on September 13, 1830, while staying at Boldino. It is based on a Russian folk tale which Pushkin collected in Mikhaylovskoye early on. The Tale of the Priest and of his Workman Balda consists of 189 extremely varied lines that range from three to fourteen syllables but made to rhyme in couplets. In the summer of 1831, Pushkin read the tale to Nikolai Gogol who liked it a great deal. The Tale was first published posthumously by Vasily Zhukovsky in 1840 with considerable alterations due to censorship; the Priest character was replaced by a merchant.
Smash!! was a Russian pop duo formed in 2001 which consisted of members Sergey Lazarev and Vlad Topalov. They sang mainly in English, and were most popular among teenagers in Russia and Southeast Asia. The duo were the first winners of New Wave, winning the contest in 2002. Although the duo fell apart in 2004, Smash!! officially disbanded in 2005.

Their debut single, "Song #1" reached number 99 in the UK, 68 in Switzerland, 35 in Sweden and 72 in Denmark and became their most commercially successful single. Their next single, "Дыши", was released in 2007. It reached number 2 in Russia, making it their first single to chart there. The band's next single "Опиум", which was known as a comeback single, peaking at 1 in Russia, 2 in Moscow, 5 in Latvia and 35 in Ukraine. It became their second number, but through references, it is currently their first. The band's fourth single "Скажи, не молчи" became the band's second number 1, but had less success, becoming one of the band's most unsuccessful singles to date, but with good commercial success. While their last single, it became member Marina Lizorkina last single when she left the band. The band released their debut album ОпиумRoz, released on 25 April 2009 in Russia and 2 March 2010 elsewhere. It was released by Monolit Records and Symbolic Records. Although it did not chart in any major charts, it had success threw online.

Formed in Moscow, Russia by Ivan Shapovalov in March 1999, the group signed a record deal with Universal Music Russia, and eventually Universal's sub-label Interscope Records in 2001.
