The Indian Cricket League 20-20 Indian Championship 2007/08 was the first tournament in the debut season of the ICL. The season commenced on the 30 November 2007 and the final match was held on 16 December 2007. The league consisted of six teams and each team played each other once prior to classification matches. [1]
The inaugural season for the Indian Cricket League was scheduled to begin in October 2007 but later shifted to start from November 30 with six club teams. The Chennai Superstars emerged as the inaugural ICL champions, beating the Chandigarh Lions by 12 runs in the final. [2] Superstars bowler Shabbir Ahmed was declared Man of the Match for claiming four wickets, including a hat-trick while Superstars batsman Ian Harvey was declared Player of the Tournament for scoring 266 runs in 7 matches and taking 9 wickets.

Mohammad Sami is a former Pakistani cricketer who played for the Pakistan national cricket team between 2001 and 2016.
Separamadu Lasith Malinga is a Sri Lankan cricketer. He captained the Sri Lankan 2014 T20 World Cup winning side. Mohammed Rafique is a Bangladeshi cricket coach and former cricketer, who played all formats of the cricket. He is the first consistent cricketer of his national cricket team. He is the first Man Of the Match for Bangladesh in One Day Internationals. One of the best spinners to ever have played for Bangladesh, Rafique was the first Bangladesh bowler to take 100 wickets in Test matches.
Mohammed Shami Ahmed is an Indian international cricketer who plays for the Indian national cricket team. He is known as a reverse swing specialist. He is a right-arm fast bowler, who consistently bowls around the 145 to 150 km/h mark, and swings and seams ball at that pace which makes him a deceptively potent fast bowler. He made his ODI debut against Pakistan in January 2013 where he bowled a record four maiden overs. He picked a five-wicket haul on his Test debut against West Indies in November 2013. On 23 January 2019, he became the fastest Indian bowler to take 100 ODI wickets. On 22 June 2019, Shami took a hat-trick against Afghanistan in the 2019 Cricket World Cup and helped India win its record 50th World Cup match.Shami is the fourth Indian cricketer to pick up a hat-trick in One Day International Cricket after Chetan Sharma, Kapil Dev and Kuldeep Yadav.
Ian Joseph Harvey is a former Australian cricketer. He was an all-rounder who played 73 One Day Internationals for Australia and was named as one of the five Wisden Cricketers of the Year for 2004 for his performances in county cricket.

Adrian Dimitri Mascarenhas is a former English cricketer. A right-handed batsman and right-arm medium-fast bowler, he played internationally for England, as well as domestically for Hampshire, in the Big Bash League for Hobart Hurricanes, for the Rajasthan Royals and Kings XI Punjab in the Indian Premier League and for the Otago Volts in New Zealand state cricket. In the inaugural Champions League Twenty20, he represented the Otago Volts, as his other teams failed to qualify. He holds the record for most runs in an over in a One Day International for England, with 30, scored off Yuvraj Singh of India on 5 September 2007, at The Oval, London. He was the bowling coach for both Otago Volts and the New Zealand National team, succeeding Shane Bond after the 2015 Cricket World Cup. He stood down after the 2016 summer for family reasons, which coincided with the retirements of the McCullum Brothers.

The Indian Cricket League (ICL) was a private cricket league funded by Zee Entertainment Enterprises that operated between 2007 and 2009 in India. Its two seasons included tournaments between four international teams and nine domestic teams notionally located in major Indian cities as well as Lahore, Pakistan and Dhaka Warriors based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The matches were played in the Twenty20 format. There was also a planned domestic 50-over tournament, but this did not eventuate. While its establishment pre-dated the Indian Premier League, the ICL folded in 2009. Aside from commercial factors, the ICL lacked the support of the Board of Control for Cricket in India and International Cricket Council.
Sohail Tanvir is a Pakistani cricketer, who has gained considerable international repute for his unorthodox left arm bowling action and particularly for the success it has gained him in the Twenty20 format of the game. This bowling record lasted for over a decade in the lucrative and prestigious IPL league. His figures in the Caribbean Premier League for the Guyana Amazon Warriors against Barbados are some of the most impressive of all time Other notable mentions in the Caribbean Premier League include an 18 ball 50 playing for the St Lucia Zouks at the Daren Sammy Stadium including smashing three consecutive sixes against Kieron Pollard. Tanvir continues to play in franchise leagues across the globe as one of the most prolific bowling all-rounders in world cricket with economical bowling figures and an impressive strike rate. Sohail Tanvir will be representing the Multan Sultans when the PSL resumes for the finals of the series in November 2020 after the team ended the league stage on top of the table. He is currently enrolled in the USA Open draft for the upcoming edition of the tournament running from December 16–20, 2020. In a 2020 interview, Tanvir described his 2007 Test debut wicket of Rahul Dravid in Delhi as the 'ball of his life' when the ball pitched outside leg stump and shattered 'the wall's off-stump in an unplayable manner.
Chennai Superstars was one of the nine teams played in the defunct Indian Cricket League (ICL) founded in 2007. The team is based in Chennai, coached by Michael Bevan and captained by Stuart Law, both reputed Australian cricketers.
Sohail Khan is a Pakistani cricketer. A right-arm fast bowler, he gained instant recognition during his debut first-class season in 2007 when he broke Fazal Mahmood's record for the best bowling figures by a Pakistani in a first-class match. Shortly afterwards he made his international debut, in an ODI against Zimbabwe. Khan was part of the team for 2015 Cricket World Cup.
Ibrahim Khaleel is an Indian-born-American first-class cricketer who played as a wicket-keeper for Hyderabad and former captain of the United States national cricket team. A right-handed batsman, Khaleel made his first-class debut in 2002. In 2007, he opted to participate in the now defunct Indian Cricket League, competing for the Hyderabad Heroes. He returned to authorised cricket in 2009, returning to play for Hyderabad. In a 2011 Ranji Trophy match against Assam, he set a record for the most dismissals in a first-class match by a wicket-keeper; taking 14 in total.

Dhaka Warriors was one of the nine teams played in the 2008 competition of the defunct Indian Cricket League (ICL). The captain was former Bangladeshi captain and batsman Habibul Bashar. The Dhaka Warriors was solely composed of Bangladeshi players and was only the second team in the competition to be represented by players from a single country. The team was formed in 2008 by a group of Bangladeshis who severed links with the Bangladesh Cricket Board; of the 14 players who made up the first squad, 12 had represented Bangladesh at international level. The Dhaka Warrior players received bans.

The tournament featured five teams and was held from 4 February 2016 to 23 February 2016 in the United Arab Emirates. The opening ceremony and first match of the tournament were held at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on 4 February 2016.
