IDLC Finance PLC, formerly known as Industrial Development Leasing Company of Bangladesh Limited (IDLC), [3] is a multi-product non-banking financial institution with headquarters in Dhaka, Bangladesh. [4] It offers financial services in the form of small and medium enterprise (SME) finance products, supplier and distributor finance, corporate finance, structured finance, retail finance, deposits and treasury products. [5] [6] The IDLC group also provides merchant banking, stock broker and asset management services via its three subsidiaries, IDLC Investments Limited, IDLC Securities Limited and IDLC Asset Management Limited, respectively. History

IDLC was established in 1985 by the initiation of IFC of the World Bank. [9] The company was formed via collaboration of International Finance Corporation, German Investment and Development Company, Korea Development Financing Corporation, Aga Khan Fund for Economic Development, Kookmin Bank, IPDC Finance Limited of Bangladesh and Sadharan Bima Corporation. It has since emerged as a fully locally owned financial institution. [10]

The Emerging Credit Rating Limited (ECRL) has given AAA long term credit rating and ECRL-1 short term credit rating to the IDLC Finance Limited. [11] [12] [13]

It is considered a pioneer and market leader in the private sector housing finance. DBH is the only financial institution in Bangladesh that has been receiving the highest credit rating of 'AAA' for 18 consecutive years.

bKash is a mobile financial service (MFS) in Bangladesh operating under the authority of Bangladesh Bank as a subsidiary of BRAC Bank PLC. This mobile financial service company started as a joint venture between BRAC Bank Limited, and Money in Motion LLC. As a mobile financial service (MFS) provider in Bangladesh, bKash users can transfer money into their mobile accounts and then access a range of services. In particular, transferring and receiving money domestically and making payments. Services like mobile recharge prepaid and postpaid package internet service Value Added Service Customer Service or paying utility bills are also possible through bKash USSD (*247#) and bKash App. A user can receive remittance on bKash. In November 2021, bKash became the first ever unicorn startup company in Bangladesh. In May 2023, bKash became the regional sponsors of the Argentina Football Association.

Mohammed Matiul Islam is a Bangladeshi diplomat and entrepreneur. He was Bangladesh's envoy to the World Bank and later the United Nations for 8 and 11 years, respectively. He has started 4 companies, and is currently chairman of Industrial and Infrastructure Development Finance Company (IIDFC), a Bangladeshi financial services firm. Proshanta Kumar Halder, a banker and known as "Sultan of swindle", had according to media reports embezzled 30 billion taka from the institute and according to Bangladesh Bank 15.69 billion taka. The fraud was aided Amitav Adhikary, a cousin of Proshanta Kumar Halder and senior management at International Leasing and Financial Services Limited.

Aviva Finance Limited is a sharia complaint major non-bank financial institution in Bangladesh. It was formerly called Reliance Finance Limited. Mohammed Saiful Alam is the chairman of Aviva Finance Limited and also S. Alam Group. The former managing director of Reliance Finance Limited, Proshanta Kumar Halder, embezzled from Reliance and other financial institutions in Bangladesh through fraudulent loans. According to the Anti-Corruption Commission Proshanta Kumar Halder had stolen 102 billion taka. The Daily Star gave Proshanta Kumar Halder the name sultan of swindle.
