The club was founded as 'Falk' in 1921, but applied to change its name to 'Sparta' in 1925. The new name was not accepted by Norges Idrettsforbund, and the members chose the name Pallas instead. In 1947, Pallas merged with 'Høydekameratene' and was renamed to Varegg, after the mountain Vardegga. [1]
Varegg played in the top division of Norwegian football for three seasons in the 1950s, attracting average crowds of about 6,000. [2] Their best finish was 6th in Group A in 1952/53, ahead of local rivals SK Brann and Årstad IL, who were relegated. Varegg were narrowly relegated in the 1955/56 season though beating rivals Brann in both games, and have not played in the top flight since.
In the 1971 Norwegian Football Cup Varegg reached the quarter-finals, and attracted a crowd of more than 20,000 at Krohnsminde against eventual winners Rosenborg BK. Varegg lost the match 0-1. Eleven years later, in 1982, an infamous 1-9 loss at home against Brann in the last round of the 1982 league season saw Brann promoted to the top tier on goal difference, ahead of Steinkjer I&FK, who suspected foul play between the two Bergen clubs. Varegg played three seasons in the Norwegian second tier division in the 1980s. Until the rise of suburban teams such as Fyllingen, Åsane, Fana and Løv-Ham in the late 1980s, Varegg was recognized as the second best club in Bergen, after Brann. [4]
Varegg have since played in lower divisions. As of 2016, they play in the 3. divisjon (level 4).

Sportsklubben Brann is a Norwegian professional football club, founded 26 September 1908, from Bergen. Brann had been in the Eliteserien, Norway's Premier Division of Football, since 1987, bar one season spent in the 1. divisjon in 2015, but they were relegated again in 2021. They play their home matches at Brann Stadion where they had a record-breaking 17,310 in average attendance in the 2007 season. In October 2007, Brann won the Norwegian league title for the first time since 1963.

It is best known for their men's football team, which since 2015 plays at Høddvoll, whose stated capacity is 4,081. Erik André Huseklepp is a Norwegian professional football coach and former player who is currently assistant coach at Brann. A former forward, he previously played for Fyllingen and Brann in Norway, for Bari in Italy, and for Portsmouth and Birmingham City in England.
Helge Haugen is a Norwegian footballer who plays as a midfielder for Sogndal. Born in Bergen, Haugen started his professional career in the local Tippeligaen club Brann. During his time at the club, he won the 2004 Norwegian Football Cup and the 2007 Tippeligaen. He has later played for Tromsø and Hønefoss, before he joined Sogndal ahead of the 2014 season. Haugen played one match for the Norwegian under-21 team in 2003.

Sarpsborg is one of the most successful teams in the Norwegian Football Cup, with six titles and twelve finals in total. In 2007, the club merged into the club that is now called Sarpsborg 08, and today Sarpsborg FK is an amateur club playing in the 4. divisjon, the fifth tier of Norwegian league system.
Harald Olav Aabrekk is a Norwegian football coach and a former player. He played for Sogndal and Brann in the Tippeligaen, Norway's top professional football league. He has been head coach of Sogndal, Tromsø, Brann, Haugesund, Vålerenga and Aalesund, and has also served as an assistant coach for the Norway national football team.
Stord Sunnhordland Fotballklubb was an association football club located in Leirvik, Stord, Norway. It was founded in late 2002 as a cooperation between the football sections of Leirvik's local multi-sports club Stord IL and lower-division Moster IL. The club was named Stord/Moster FK until 2006. Two investors, football agent Terje Simonsen and professional footballer Kjetil Løvvik, were behind the merger. It was founded to create one large club in the Sunnhordland region, to attract support behind the club. Critics claimed that the investors were mainly looking to develop players to sell for cash. Top goalscorer the first season was Kjetil Løvvik himself, who quit a professional career to play for the club. Stord/Moster fared well on the football field; they won their Third Division group twice in a row, and on the second occasion they gained promotion through playoff. They then played two seasons in the Second Division. Their biggest talent was Christian Brink who went on to higher levels of football.

The two group-winners, Lisleby and IL Hødd, won promotion to the 1966 1. divisjon, while the two bottom teams from each group, Østsiden, Ørn, Årstad and Kvik, were relegated to the third tier.

Molde Fotballklubb is a football club from Molde, Norway. It was established in 1911 as International by a group of people gathered by Klaus Daae Andersen. After permission was granted, it took the current name and joined the league system in 1928. Until 1937, Molde played in regional leagues, after numerous promotions and relegations. Since 1930, the team has played in the Norwegian Football Cup. In 1939, the club joined the third season of the League of Norway, the top division, but the break-out of the World War II caused a halt to all organized sports and thus this season was never completed.
