The IMOCA 60 Class yacht PRB 4 was designed by Farr Yacht Design and launched in September 2006 after being assembled by CDK Technologies based in Lorient, France. [1] [2] The boat is a sister ship to Foncia, which was launched in May 2007.

It was the ninth edition of the race, which started and finished in Les Sables-d'Olonne, France. The IMOCA 60 Class yacht Estrella Damm was designed by Farr Yacht Design and launched in the 2007 after being built by Offshore Challenges who are not a boatbuilder but brought in specialist to build the boat in Cowes on the Isle of Wight in England. This racing yacht is not to be confused with Estrella Damm 2, which competed in the 2010 Barcelona World Race.

The IMOCA 60 Class yacht PRB 4 was designed by Lauriot-Prévost and G. Verdier and launched in 2010 after being assembled by CDK Technologies based in Lorient, France. The hull was moulded in those of Safran and manufactured at the Larros Shipyard in Gujan Mestras under the direction of Thierry Elluère. The deck will was made at CDK technologies in Port la Forêt. In Italy, near Milan, Refraschini manufacture the internal structure of the boat. The initial keel was made by AMPM, Mothe Achard.

The IMOCA 60 Class yacht Ecover 3 was designed by Owen Clark Design, made by the New Zealand-based Hakes Marine and launched in September 2006. The boat is a sister ship to Aviva.

The IMOCA 60 Class yacht Hugo Boss 6 was designed by VPLP, Guillaume Verdier and Alex Thomson Racing and launched in 2015 after being built by Green Marine based in Hythe, England.

The IMOCA 60 Class yacht L'Occitane en Provence, FRA 2, was designed by Sam Manuard and launched on the 31st January 2020 after being assembled by Black Pepper Yachts based in Nantes, France. Pauger Composites in Hungary did the hull moulding.

The IMOCA 60 Class yacht Holcim - PRB originally launched as PRB (5) was designed by Guillaume Verdier, built by Carrington Boats in Hythe, England, and launched in 2022. The boat was shipped to France for final fitout. The hull was moulded for an Ocean Race project that was cancelled during the COVID-19 pandemic. The PRB team used the parts completed as a way to accelerate their build process and get back out on the water following the sinking of PRB 4 on 30 November, 2020.

The IMOCA 60 Class yacht Bonduelle 2, FRA 59 was designed by Marc Lombard and launched in the April 2004 after being built by JMV based in Cherbourg, France. The boat was lost during the 2008-2009 Vendee Globe following the loss of the keel bulb. The skipper Jean Le Cam was rescued by fellow competitor Vincent Riou.

The IMOCA 60 Class yacht MACSF was designed by Lauriot-Prévost and G. Verdier and launched in the August 2007 after being built by Chantier Naval de Laros in France.

The Route du Rhum is a single person transatlantic race the 2022 race was the 12th edition and had six classes with 138 boats taking part. The events status as a qualification for event for the Vendee Globe lead to the largest most competitive fleet of IMOCA 60 class yachts gathered todate. In his first attempt at the race Charles Caudrelier took line honours in a new race record time on the Maxi Multihull Edmond de Rothschild in six days, 19 hours and 47 minutes.
