Ian Botham K. Sangma (born 1987) [1] is an Indian politician from Meghalaya. He is a member of the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly representing the National People's Party (India). Sangma is from Anangpara village,Ampati post,South West Garo Hills district,Meghalaya. [4] He is the son of Danny Ch. Marak. He completed his Master of Business Administration(M.B.A.) at University of Bedfordshire,United Kingdom. [1]
Sangma won from Salmanpara Assembly constituency representing the National People's Party (India) in the 2023 Meghalaya Legislative Assembly election. He polled 11,352 votes and defeated his nearest rival,Winnerson D Sangma of All India Trinamool Congress,by a margin of 5,238 votes. [5] [6]

The scheduled election in Williamnagar constituency was delayed to an undetermined date following the death of Nationalist Congress Party candidate Jonathone Sangma in an IED blast in East Garo Hills district on 18 February 2018. The incumbent Indian National Congress government,led by Chief Minister Mukul Sangma,attempted to win re-election for the third consecutive time.
