He came to prominence as the lead vocalist and primary songwriter for the new wave band Oingo Boingo in the early 1980s. Colin William Towns is an English composer and keyboardist. He was noted for playing in bands formed by ex-Deep Purple singer Ian Gillan, and later worked extensively in composing soundtracks for film, television and commercials. Learning piano as a child, by the age of 13 he was earning money playing at weddings and birthdays in his neighbourhood of the East End of London. He went on to play in numerous dance bands, jazz ensembles and also became a session musician. His main musical passion is jazz and he has made several well-received albums together with his big band, the Mask Orchestra. He has also founded an independent record label, Provocateur.

"The Reeling" was released as the album's lead single on May 11, 2009, and its music video was premiered on YouTube on April 21, 2009. A second single, "To Kingdom Come", was released in August 2009, followed by "Little Secrets" in December 2009. "Sleepyhead" was originally included on Passion Pit's first EP, Chunk of Change (2008), but was mastered for inclusion on Manners. As of December 2009, the album had sold 82,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

The Diabolical is a 2015 American science fiction horror film directed by Alistair Legrand and written by Legrand and Luke Harvis. Rosaline (Original Soundtrack) is the soundtrack to the 2022 film Rosaline directed by Karen Maine. The film is scored by Ian Hultquist, who previously scored Maine's Yes, God, Yes (2019) and joined with his wife Sofia Hultquist, who was credited under her stage name Drum & Lace. The score was composed using traditional instruments which had been experimented with synthesisers to give the score a "pop music" feel and also highlight the comedic moments in the film, which was different from the darker themes in the original play, the film is based on. The score was released by Hollywood Records on October 14, 2022.
