The Edmonton Oilers are a professional ice hockey team based in Edmonton. The Oilers compete in the National Hockey League (NHL) as a member of the Pacific Division of the Western Conference. They play their home games at Rogers Place, which opened in 2016. Kris Knoblauch is the head coach as of November 12, 2023, and Jeff Jackson was named interim general manager on June 27, 2024. The Oilers are one of two NHL franchises based in Alberta, the other being the Calgary Flames. Their proximity has led to a fierce rivalry known as the "Battle of Alberta".
Grant Scott Fuhr is a Canadian former professional ice hockey goaltender in the National Hockey League (NHL) and former goaltending coach for the Arizona Coyotes, who played for the Edmonton Oilers in the 1980s during which he won the Stanley Cup five times.

William Edward Ranford is a Canadian former professional ice hockey goaltender and current director of goaltending for the Los Angeles Kings. He was selected in the third round of the 1985 NHL Entry Draft, 52nd overall, by the Boston Bruins. Over the course of fifteen NHL seasons Ranford played with Boston, the Edmonton Oilers, Washington Capitals, Tampa Bay Lightning, and Detroit Red Wings, winning two Stanley Cups, a Canada Cup, and the 1994 Men's Ice Hockey World Championships while playing for Canada. He is the only goaltender in history to be awarded the MVP of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, Canada Cup/World Cup, & Men's Ice Hockey World Championship.
Michael R. Greenlay is a Brazilian-born Canadian former ice hockey goaltender. Greenlay played two games for the Edmonton Oilers in 1989–90. He was a successful amateur player who spent most of his pro career in the minor leagues.
Joseph Leopold Louis Marie Frédéric Chabot is a Canadian ice hockey coach and former goaltender who played parts of five seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Montreal Canadiens, Philadelphia Flyers and Los Angeles Kings from 1991 to 1999. The rest of his career, which lasted from 1989 to 2006, was spent in the minor leagues and then in Europe. He is currently the Goaltending Coach for the Minnesota Wild.
Patrick John Conacher is a Canadian former ice hockey forward. He last played with the Canada men's national ice hockey team during the 1997-98 season. He is currently a scout of amateur hockey for the Vancouver Canucks.

He played one game in the National Hockey League with the Chicago Black Hawks in 1971, and 52 games in the World Hockey Association with the Alberta/Edmonton Oilers between 1972 and 1975. The rest of his career lasted from 1968 to 1975 and was spent in the minor leagues.
