Ibrar Tipu is a Bangladeshi music director, composer and singer. He was the composer and one of singer of official theme song for the ICC World Cup Cricket O Prithibi Ebar Ese Bangladesh Nao Chine in 2011. [1] [2] As a singer and musician, he has sung many songs and he can play more than twenty musical instruments. [3] In 2019 he started his own audio-video production house named 'Orni Records' with singer Bindu Kona. [4]

Early life and education

Tipu grew up in a cultural family in Syedpur. He was enlisted for the Notun Kuri program at Rangpur Radio Station and second in the final competition of tabla in 1985. He was completed music education from Dhaka International Music School.

Career

Started career as a tabla player Tipu wanted to learn playing more musical instruments and learning to play the guitar back in 1989 from a band named The Blues. He attended Indian classical music classes in 1983–84. First album was released in 1998 and the name of the album 'Kuashar Prohor'. Later released his first solo album 'Chena Ochena' in 2005. He was started singing in movies began in 2007 with a duet with Samina Chowdhury in the movie 'Tumi Amar Shami'.

Kazi Md Ali Jahangir, known as Balam, is a Bangladeshi singer, guitarist, composer, and music producer. He was born in Dhamaron village in Tongibari Upazila of Munshiganj (Bikrampur) district. He used to be the lead guitarist/vocalist for the band Warfaze. Later he introduced himself as a solo singer. In 2019 he joined LRB as a lead guitarist/vocalist.

Bangladeshi heavy metal or Bangla heavy metal was originated from the evolution of British and American heavy metal bands of 1980s. Bands like Iron Maiden, Metallica and Megadeth have had the greatest influences on Bangladeshi heavy metal musicians. Other 1970s bands to influence are bands like Deep Purple, Black Sabbath and Motörhead. The first bands to play heavy metal in Bangladesh were bands like Warfaze and Rockstrata. The most prominent era for heavy metal movement was between early 1990s to early 2000s. Warfaze, Rockstrata, Aces and In Dhaka are often considered as the "big four founders of heavy metal". Other 2000s metal bands are bands like Artcell, Aurthohin, Cryptic Fate, Powersurge, Mechanix, Metal Maze, Vibe and Stentorian. Alternative bands like Nemesis, Arbovirus and Black also played some alternative metal songs over the years. Warfaze, Artcell and Aurthohin together are the most popular rock/metal trio of Bangladesh.

"O Prithibi Ebar Ese Bangladesh Ke Nao Chiney", is a song composed by Ibrar Tipu and has been sung by Ibrar Tipu, Arnob, Mila, Balam, Kona and Elita Karim. The lyricist of the song is Zulfiqer Russell. It is the official welcome song for the 2011 Cricket World Cup. It was released worldwide on February 17, 2011 at welcome ceremony of Cricket world cup 2011 held in Bangladesh.
