After the death of co-host Dirk Bach the future of the show was unknown. In October 2012 RTL revealed Daniel Hartwich as new host. Sonja Zietlow remains as host for the show.
In this series there is another show called Ich bin ein Star - Holt mich hier raus! Das Magazin, which picks up the latest action in camp in talk with former campmates. It is aired from Monday to Friday at 7:50 pm (CET).
The series starts on January, 11. [1] For the first time a replacement for one of the participants was sent into the camp two days after the show had already started. Klaus Baumgart replaced Helmut Berger as Berger had to leave the camp because of medical issues..
Also for the first time in history, a group of six celebrities were sent into the jungle, one day before the other five celebrities were sent into the camp. New is a tree house near the camp. Two celebrities can sleep in it, but only by instruction.

The Apprentice is a reality talent game show franchise originally aired in 2004 in the United States.

Each member undertakes challenges to secure additional food and treats for the group, and to avoid being voted out by viewers during their stay, with the final episode's votes nominating who wins a series.

Survivor Croatia is a Croatian reality game show based on the international Survivor format. Following the premise of other versions of the Survivor format, the show features a group of contestants, referred to as "castaways" as they are marooned in an isolated location. The castaways must provide food, water, fire, and shelter for themselves. The contestants compete in various challenges for rewards and immunity from elimination. The contestants are progressively eliminated from the game as they are voted off the island by their fellow castaways, or eliminated through challenges. The final castaway remaining is awarded the title of "Sole Survivor" and the grand prize.
I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! returned for its twelfth series on 11 November 2012 and finished on 1 December 2012. Ant & Dec returned as main hosts, with Laura Whitmore and Joe Swash returning as hosts of spin-off show I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! NOW!. On 16 June 2012, it was announced that Russell Kane would be leaving Get Me Out of Here! NOW!. He has been replaced by comedian Rob Beckett.

In the last episode of Season 10 the presenters Zietlow and Hartwich announced that the show would return for an 11th season in January 2017. The contestants were announced in early January 2017. 12 participants were announced to compete. The group of contestants was split into two camps with six participants living in each of the camps. Bushtucker duels took place instead of the original bushtucker trials. The season started off with a special on 13 January.
