Igbeti-Okeogun is a town located in the northern part of Oyo State, Nigeria. [1] The town's population was approximately 81,000 at the 2006 census. Igbeti is also known as "Marble City" for its rich marble deposits. It is situated in Olorunsogo Local Government area which is one of the thirty three local governments in Oyo state. It has Ilorin, the Kwara state capital to her East, Ikoyi Ile to the South, Igboho and Saki to her West, while the old Oyo National Park lies to the North. Iya Mopo and Agbele Rock are the two most visited of the 16 hills surrounding the town. Iya Mopo Hill, the highest hill in Igbeti, which occupies over six kilometers of land mass and is as high as one hundred and fifty feet, was once used as shelter against attacks. Agbele Rock is a naturally formed statue said to depict a mother with load on her head carrying her child and also Bata Erugba named because of it Drum like structure. [2] There are annual activities of interest and tourist attractions in Igbeti such as annual mountain hiking and picnics for the Easter holidays especially on Easter Mondays. This attracts tourists inflow into the town. Igbeti is known to have hosted many cultural programmes such as the Oyo State Celebration of world tourism day on September 27. [3] [4]
Yorubaland is the homeland and cultural region of the Yoruba people in West Africa. Iseyin is a city located in Oyo, Nigeria. It is approximately 100 km (62 mi) north of Ibadan. The city was estimated to have a population of 236,000, according to United Nations 2005 estimate, which increased to 362,990 in 2011, and has a total land mass of 2,341 km2 (904 sq mi). Its inhabitants are mostly of Yoruba origin and its ruler is the Aseyin of Iseyin, with the current being Oba Sefiu Oyebola Adeyeri III, Ajirotutu I.
The Old Oyo National Park is one of the national parks of Nigeria, located across northern Oyo State and southern Kwara State, Nigeria. The park is 2,512 km2 of land in northern Oyo state, south west Nigeria, at latitude 8° 15’ and 9° 00’N and longitude 3° 35’ and 4° 42’ E. The location has inevitably placed the park at a vantage position of abundance land area as well as diverse wildlife and cultural/historical settings. Eleven local government areas out of which ten fall within Oyo State and one in Kwara State surrounds it. The Administrative Head Office is located in Oyo, Isokun area along Oyo-Iseyin road, where necessary information and booking could be made. The landscaping and organized space within the large yard has made the facility very endearing to the public. It is rich in plant and animal resources including buffaloes, bushbuck and a variety of birds. The park is easily accessible from southwestern and northwestern Nigeria. The nearest cities and towns adjoining Old Oyo National Park include Saki, Iseyin, Igboho, Sepeteri, Tede, Kishi, and Igbeti, which have their own commercial and cultural attractions for tourism.
Tourism in Nigeria centers largely on events, due to the country's ample amount of ethnic groups, but also includes rain forests, savannah, waterfalls, and other natural attractions. Tourists spent US$2.6 billion in Nigeria in 2015. This dropped to US$1.5 billion in 2017.
Ipokia is the metropolitan headquarters of Anago kingdom. It is an ancient kingdom in old Oyo empire. Unlike the other kingdoms, which had at one time or the other engaged in the internecine wars that ravaged Yorubaland in the nineteenth century, Ipokia stood out as an unconquered sanctuary city-state throughout the period. The year it was founded was not known but can be traced to 13th to 14th century when some prince and princess of Oramiyan, the 6th Ooni of ife and founder of Oyo and Benni kingdom migrate from Oyo ile and settled in Ajase ipo in present-day kwara state due to a little misunderstanding among the prince, then move downward toward west,Lagos with the ancient crown gotten from their forefathers, Oduduwa. settled briefly in Lagos shores, Isale Eko before coming to Badagry axis and finally settled down and formed a small town named Ipokia meaning with the help and guidance of Ifa Oracle. Ipokia came to be a Local Government in 1996 carved from formally known as"Egbado south local government"but now "Yewa South local government in the west of Ogun State, Nigeria bordering the Republic of Benin. Its Capital is in Ipokia town. It is an exit route from Nigeria to outside world through road and water. It is also regarded as main gate to the gateway state due to its proximity and the boundary between Nigeria and Benin Republic. There are other towns like Idiroko, Oniro, Ita Egbe,Hunbo, Agosasa, Aseko, Maun, Koko, Ropo, Alaari, Tube, Ilashe, Ifonyintedo, Madoga, Idosemo, Ijofin and Tongeji Island in the town of Ipokia at6°32′00″N2°51′00″E.

Oyo Igboho is a large town in Oyo State, Nigeria. It is the headquarters of the Orelope Local Government Area. It has an estimated population of 200,000.

Prince Amen Edore Oyakhire was the Military Administrator of Taraba State, Nigeria between August 1996 and August 1998 during the military regime of General Sani Abacha. He was then administrator of Oyo State during the transitional regime of General Abdulsalami Abubakar, handing over to the elected civilian governor Lam Onaolapo Adesina in May 1999 at the start of the Nigerian Fourth Republic.
