Ikire is a town in Osun State, in south-western Nigeria. It is a place where local cash crops (cocoa, palm oil, and kernels) are brought together. It is also a place where yams, corn (maize), cassava (manioc), palm produce, cotton, and kola nuts are sold.
Prince Akinere, a renowned elephant hunter founded the Ikire [1] Township.
Irewole Local Government, Ikire is highly blessed with a conducive climate. The availability of the fine climate has broadly enhanced the cultivation of Arable and cash crops, which has further contributed to the economic development of the area. In addition, the vegetation cover of the Local Government Area is typically evergreen rainforest that is normally luxuriant during the raining season. The presence of the evergreen luxuriant forest has aided the rearing of cattle and other domestic animals at the Irewole Local Government Area.

Iwo is a city in Osun State, Nigeria. The Iwo people, like all other people of the Yoruba kingdom, are said to have originated from Ile-Ife, where they migrated sometimes in the 11th century according to Alademomi kenyon and Prince Adelegan Adegbola (2009). The only predicted land with the symbol of the parrots is the Iwo kingdom. The city was formerly part of old Oyo state and was later separated and became one of the major townships in Osun State, Nigeria.

Aiyedire is a Local Government Area, one of the thirty Local Government Areas in Osun State, Nigeria. Its headquarters is located at 1, Col Ogunkanmi Road in the town of Ileogbo at 7°47′00″N4°12′00″E. Hon. Adeboye Mukaila Oladejo had been its Chairman since 2017. The local government was named Iwo South Local Government on establishment which was later renamed Aiyedire Local Government which is its present name today. The local government was carved from the old Iwo local government which was in Araromi in Iwo.
Akogun Kamarudeen Olalere "Lere" Oyewumi is a Nigerian politician, educationist, philanthropist, and community development specialist who has served as the senator representing Osun West senatorial district since 2023. He was a chairman of Irewole Local Government Area, and a member of the Nigerian House of Representatives in the Third Republic. He is a former Commissioner of the National Population Commission, Abuja.
James Adedokun Adegoke (1934–2017) was a teacher and football referee who became Apetumodu of Ipetumodu in 1992. He is from Asalu compound of Fagbemokun ruling house of Ipetumodu.
Ayedaade Government High School is a senior high school in Ikire, Irewole local government, Osun State, Nigeria. It was built for about 3,000 students. The Governor of Osun, Rauf Aregbesola, and the Federal Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, attended the commissioning of the school in 2018.
Ayo Hulayat Omidiran, born 10 November 1965, is a Nigerian politician and former federal lawmaker representing the Ayedaade/Irewole/Isokan federal constituency in Osun State. She is a member of the All Progressive Congress. She is a native of Ikire in the Irewole local government area of Osun State.
