The Sri Lanka men's national cricket team, nicknamed The Lions, represents Sri Lanka in men's international cricket. It is a full Member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) with Test, One-Day International (ODI) and T20 International (T20I) status. The team first played first class cricket in 1926–27 and became an associate member of the ICC in 1965. They made their international debut in the 1975 Cricket World Cup and were later awarded the Test status in 1981, which made Sri Lanka the eighth Test cricket-playing nation. The team is administered by Sri Lanka Cricket.

Bismah Maroof is a former Pakistani cricketer who played as an all-rounder, batting left-handed and bowling right-arm leg break. In June 2022, she became the most runs scorer for Pakistani women's cricket team in both ODI and T20I formats. Australia women's cricket team toured Sri Lanka in September 2016. The tour consisted of a series of four One Day Internationals (ODIs) and one Twenty20 International (T20I). Three of the four WODIs were part of the ongoing 2014–16 ICC Women's Championship. Australia won the ODI series 4–0 and the one-off T20I match by 10 wickets. Australia's margin of victory in the T20I was the largest, by balls remaining, in a women's fixture.

He plays for Chilaw Marians Cricket Club in domestic cricket, and he made his international debut for the Sri Lanka cricket team in February 2019. He has his education at Sri Sumangala College, Panadura.
The Pakistan women's cricket team played Sri Lanka women's cricket team in March 2018. The tour consisted of three Women's One Day Internationals (WODIs) and three Women's Twenty20 Internationals (WT20Is). The WODI games were part of the 2017–20 ICC Women's Championship. Ahead of the series, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) selected twenty-one players to take part in a training camp in Lahore. Pakistan Women won the WODI series 3–0 and the WT20I series 2–1.
Kavisha Dilhari is a Sri Lankan cricketer who plays for the women's national cricket team. She has played domestic cricket since the age of fifteen. She made her Women's One Day International cricket (WODI) debut for Sri Lanka Women against Pakistan Women on 20 March 2018.
