Podkowa Leśna is a town in Grodzisk Mazowiecki County, Masovian Voivodeship of Poland and located within the territory of the Młochowskie Forests. Town status – since 1 January 1969. The town also has the status of gmina, meaning "commune". Population – ca. 4000.

The eighth series of Warsaw Shore, a Polish television programme based in Warsaw, Poland was announced on 14 July 2017. The eighth season began airing on 3 September 2017. This was the first series not to include five former cast members Jakub Henke, Alan Kwieciński, Magda Pyznar, Klaudia Stec and Ewelina "Młoda" Bańkowska, and was the first to feature nine new cast members Jola Mróz, who had previously appeared during the first series of Ex on the Beach Poland as main cast member and second series as an ex-girlfriend of current cast member Piotr Polak, Anna "Andzia" Papierz, Bartek Barański, Ilona Borowska, Jacek Bystry, Kamila Widz, Marcin "Brzydal" Maruszak, Mariusz "Ryjek" Adam and Wiktoria Sypucińska. It also features the return of former original cast member Anna "Mała" Aleksandrzak who previously made exit during the previous series. The series also feature the show's 100th episode. Ahead of the series it was confirmed that the series would be filmed in Władysławowo.
The Teacher or The Teach is a Polish television crime drama series, which began screening from 2 October 2016. It stars Maciej Stuhr as Paweł, a high school teacher, who investigates criminal cases. Katarzyna Dąbrowska portrays Marta, another teacher and some-time love interest. Paulina Szostak appears as a student, Ewelina, in two seasons. The first season of ten episodes was a rating success for Canal + as it broke their all-time record and won two awards, including Best TV Series at the Polish Film Awards. A second season of eight episodes began in October 2017. After a gap of six years, a third season of eight episodes was broadcast from September 2023.

Paweł Adamowicz, sitting mayor of Gdańsk, Poland, was fatally stabbed on 13 January 2019, during the finale of the 27th Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity, a wintertime Polish charity event. The incident took place in the former coal market of the city of Gdańsk. It was a highly public attack, with significant news coverage from both national and international sources.
Jacek Piotr Jaworek was a Polish construction worker who is suspected of killing his brother, sister in law and their 17-year-old son with a firearm on 10 July 2021 in the village of Borowce after an altercation between them had taken place. In spite of the involvement of 200 police officers, European Arrest Warrant and Interpol red notice, authorities were unable to detain him and as of March 2024 his whereabouts were unknown. Europol had put Jaworek on the "EU Most Wanted" list.
