Early life

Rasheed grew up in South Australia and spent much of her early sporting life playing tennis. She is the daughter of former professional tennis player and coach Roger Rasheed, and the niece of Tyson Goldsack, a former Collingwood footballer. [1] She began playing Australian rules football at around 12 years of age, drawn to the team environment. [2] Rasheed joined the Sturt Football Club in the SANFL Women's League and developed through the club's junior pathways.

SANFLW career

Rasheed debuted for Sturt in the SANFLW while still a teenager, playing predominantly as a midfielder and forward. [3]

In the 2024 SANFLW season, she averaged 24 disposals, five clearances and five inside 50s per game across 12 matches. [4] Her performances earned her the league's Powerade Breakthrough Player Award and she finished third in the SANFLW Best and Fairest count. [5] She was regarded as one of the leading young players in South Australian women's football. [6]

Junior representative career

Rasheed represented South Australia in the AFL Women's Under-18 Championships in both 2023 and 2024. [1] She was named in the All-Australian team on both occasions and was voted South Australia's Most Valuable Player in 2023. [6] In 2024, she served as vice-captain of the state side. [5] Her performances at the national level increased her profile among draft recruiters.

AFLW career

Rasheed was drafted by the Adelaide Football Club with pick 13 in the 2024 AFL Women's draft. [5] [7] She was allocated guernsey number 8 ahead of the 2025 season. [8]

Ahead of her debut, AFL.com.au listed her as Adelaide's "draftee to watch" for the 2025 season. [9] She was also named in Adelaide’s forward line for a pre-season trial match against the Melbourne Football Club. [10]

Playing style

Rasheed is noted for her clean hands, decision-making, and effective left-foot kicking. [1] She is considered capable of impacting games both at ground level and in aerial contests. Coaches have also noted her endurance and adaptability to different positions. [2]

Personal life

Outside of football, Rasheed has a background in tennis through her family. Her father, Roger Rasheed, played professionally and later coached elite players including Lleyton Hewitt and Gaël Monfils. [11]
