The Indian Library Association (ILA) was established on September 13, 1933 Registered under the societies Registration Act (XXI of 1860), on the occasion of the First All India Library Conference held at Calcutta (now Kolkata). The headquarters of ILA situated in Delhi, India.

Its 53rd Annual conference was held in Hyderabad in 2007. Its 54th Annual conference was held in Mumbai in 2008. Its 55th Annual conference was held at Birla Institute of Management Technology, Greater Noida from 21–24 January 2010 India. 63rd Annual Conference was held at Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Lucknow from 23–25 November 2017 on the topic "Sustainable Development of Library and Information Science Profession".This was an international conference organised by Department of LIS and Gautam Buddha Central Library of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University Lucknow.
The Journal of Indian Library Association is a flagship journal of ILA since 1965. The journal is issued as a quarterly publication and is peer-reviewed.[ citation needed ]

He has worked as a visiting scientist at High Energy Accelerator Research Organization (KEK), Japan from June to September, 2006. He is also president of Nuclear Track Society of India (NTSI).

Ranbir Chander Sobti is an Indian educationist, cell biologist. He is a former vice chancellor of the Panjab University, Chandigarh and Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Lucknow. He is known to have involved in advanced research in plant genetic studies and has written over 240 articles, and 22 books including Essentials of Biotechnology and Emerging Trends in Biomedical Science and Health. He is an elected Fellow of several major science academies such as Indian National Science Academy, National Academy of Agricultural Sciences, National Academy of Medical Sciences, National Academy of Sciences, India, and Punjab Academy of Sciences. The Government of India awarded him the fourth highest civilian honour of the Padma Shri, in 2009, for his contributions to Literature and Education.
Dukhan Ram (1899–1990) was an Indian ophthalmologist, academic, legislator and the vice chancellor of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Bihar University. He was the principal of Patna Medical College, one of the oldest medical colleges in India, and the president of Arya Pradeshik Pratinidhi Sabha, a satellite organization of Arya Samaj, founded by Dayanand Saraswati. He successfully contested the 1962 Bihar Legislative Assembly election from Sasaram constituency, on Indian National Congress candidature and served as the president of All India Ophthalmological Society in 1961. The Government of India awarded him the third highest civilian honour of the Padma Bhushan, in 1962, for his contributions to medical science.

Ravishankar Ramachandran is an Indian molecular biologist and a senior principal scientist at the department of molecular and structural biology of the Central Drug Research Institute. Known for his studies on the molecular mechanisms of human pathogens such as Mycobacterium tuberculosis, Ramachandran is a DBT-nominated member of the Institutional Bio-Safety Committee of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University. His studies have been documented by way of a number of articles and ResearchGate, an online repository of scientific articles has listed 142 of them. The Department of Biotechnology of the Government of India awarded him the National Bioscience Award for Career Development, one of the highest Indian science awards, for his contributions to biosciences, in 2010.
Bhim Janmabhoomi is a memorial dedicated to Bhimrao Ambedkar, located at Mhow in Madhya Pradesh, India. This was birthplace of Ambedkar, who was born on 14 April 1891 in Mhow. where the local government built this grand memorial. This memorial was inaugurated on Ambedkar's 100th birth anniversary – 14 April 1991 by the then Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Sunder Lal Patwa. The architecture of the memorial was composed by architect E.D. Nimgade. Later, On 14 April 2008, the 117th birthday of Ambedkar, inaugurated the memorial. Nearly 4.52 acres of land is connected to the memorial.
Rajgruha is a memorial and house of the leader B. R. Ambedkar at Hindu colony of Dadar in Mumbai, India. It was named Rajgriha in reference to the ancient Hindu-Buddhist kingdom. The ground floor of the three-story building hosts a heritage museum, as a memorial to the Indian leader.
