Indiranagar or Ittigegud is a suburb of Mysore City in Karnataka state, India. [1] [2] [3] [4]
Indiranagar is located South of famous Mysore Palace. Ittigegud, translating brickyard or brickfield in Kannada, which was the place where Bricks were prepared. [5] [6] [7] [8]
Indiranagar is home to many popular places. Namely Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Gardens, Mysore Race Course and Mysore Dasara exhibition Grounds at Doddakere maidan. [9] [10] [11] [12]
Indiranagar is home to many cultural activities and famous Ittigegud Karaga or Mysore Kagara, also known as Sri Chamundeshwari and Sri Maariyamma Karaga Mahotsava is an annual festival celebrated in Indiranagar which is an initiative form Sri Renukadevi Karaga Temple and the Karaga starts from there before getting immersed at Paschimavahini near Srirangapatna. Bungle Shama Rao Dwarakanath, known by his stage name Dwarakish, was an Indian actor, comedian, director and producer who predominantly worked in Kannada cinema in addition to few Tamil, Telugu and Hindi films. Starting his career as a supporting actor in Veera Sankalpa (1964) and co-producer for the film Mamatheya Madilu in 1966, Dwarakish went on to work over five decades in cinema. He debuted as a director with the film Nee Bareda Kadambari (1985).
The Chamundeshwari Temple is a Hindu temple located on the top of Chamundi Hills about 13 km from the palace city of Mysuru in the state of Karnataka in India. The temple was named after Chamundeshwari or, the fierce form of Shakti, a tutelary deity held in reverence for centuries by the Maharaja of Mysuru.
Hemanth Kumar, better known by his stage name Darshan Thoogudeepa or simply Darshan, is an Indian actor, film producer and distributor who works predominantly in Kannada films. Madikeri Dasara is the Dasara festival is celebrated in the city of Madikeri in the Indian State of Karnataka. It has a history of over a hundred years. Madikeri Dasara is a ten-day celebration, which is beautified by 4 Karagas and 10 Mantapas depicting killing of Asuras (demons) by Suras (God/Goddess). Preparation for Madikeri dasara starts before 3 months. Most of the money for this celebration is collected from the people of Kodagu. Each of these 10 Mantapa committee has 50 to 100 members. A Mantapa comprises idols of height 8 to 15 feet, which is set up at the front of a lighting board. The cost of building a Mantapa will be ₹10 to 20 Lakhs.

Madhuvana Mysore Royal Cemetery is a site in Mysuru where many members of the Wadiyar royal family were cremated. It is located on Mysuru-Nanjangud road, and is on five acres of land. It is also known as "Khasa Brindavan", or "private garden". The cemetery is in the process of becoming a tourist attraction.
