Industria is a sans-serif font designed in 1984 by Neville Brody. It was originally designed for use in The Face magazine. [1] The font features elements of geometric precision. [2] It is licensed by the Linotype type foundry [3] and released publicly in 1989. [4]

Usage

Industria is used by the NBA's Oklahoma City Thunder as their wordmark as well as in their logo. [7] Industria is also used in the logo for the video game franchise Syphon Filter, by the melodic death Metal band Dark Tranquillity, and in the logo for The X-Files . [8] Many sports franchises owned or endorsed by Red Bull GmbH use Industria in their logo to display their location (e.g. New York Red Bulls, Austrian FC Red Bull Salzburg). It is also used in conjunction with Newport Classic to render the SimCity 2000 logo.

Polish music program "30 ton lista, lista przebojów" in Polish Television (TVP2) emitted in 1995-2006 used SolidA

Industria Solid was for a long time the official font of the French Ministry of Education and is used in all its administration's logos.

The font was also used for the S&S Power logo.

It is based on geometric shapes, especially the circle, similar in spirit to the Bauhaus design style of the period. It was developed as a typeface by the Bauer Type Foundry, in competition with Ludwig & Mayer's seminal Erbar typeface of 1926.

Univers Sans-serif typeface family

Univers is the name of a large sans-serif typeface family designed by Adrian Frutiger and released by his employer Deberny & Peignot in 1957. Classified as a neo-grotesque sans-serif, one based on the model of nineteenth-century German typefaces such as Akzidenz-Grotesk, it was notable for its availability from the moment of its launch in a comprehensive range of weights and widths. The original marketing for Univers deliberately referenced the periodic table to emphasise its scope.

Franklin Gothic

Franklin Gothic and its related faces are a large family of sans-serif typefaces in the industrial or grotesque style developed in the early years of the 20th century by the type foundry American Type Founders (ATF) and credited to its head designer Morris Fuller Benton. “Gothic” was a contemporary term meaning sans-serif.

Microgramma (typeface)

Microgramma is a sans serif font which was designed by Aldo Novarese and Alessandro Butti for the Nebiolo Type Foundry in 1952. It became popular for use with technical illustrations in the 1960s and was a favourite of graphic designers by the early seventies, its uses ranging from publicity and publication design to packaging, largely because of its availability as a Letraset typeface. Early typesetters also incorporated it.

Copperplate Gothic

Copperplate Gothic is a typeface designed by Frederic W. Goudy and released by American Type Founders (ATF) in 1901.

Google logo Company logo

The Google logo appears in numerous settings to identify the search engine company. Google has used several logos over its history, with the first logo created by Sergey Brin using GIMP. A revised logo debuted on September 1, 2015. The previous logo, with slight modifications between 1999 and 2013, was designed by Ruth Kedar, with a wordmark based on the Catull, an old style serif typeface designed by Gustav Jaeger for the Berthold Type Foundry in 1982.

Kabel is a geometric sans-serif typeface designed by German designer Rudolf Koch, and released by the Klingspor foundry from 1927 onwards.

Rotis

Rotis is a typeface developed in 1988 by Otl Aicher, a German graphic designer and typographer. In Rotis, Aicher explores an attempt at maximum legibility through a highly unified yet varied typeface family that ranges from full serif, glyphic, and sans-serif. The four basic Rotis variants are:

Windsor (typeface) Serif typeface created in 1905 by Eleisha Pechey

Windsor is a serif typeface created by Eleisha Pechey (1831-1902) and released by the Stephenson Blake type foundry. It is intended for use such as display and in headings rather than for body text.

Sabon Serif typeface

Sabon is an old-style serif typeface designed by the German-born typographer and designer Jan Tschichold (1902–1974) in the period 1964–1967. It was released jointly by the Linotype, Monotype, and Stempel type foundries in 1967. The design of the roman is based on types by Claude Garamond, particularly a specimen printed by the Frankfurt printer Konrad Berner. Berner had married the widow of a fellow printer Jacques Sabon, the source of the face's name, who had bought some of Garamond's type after his death. The italics are based on types designed by a contemporary of Garamond's, Robert Granjon. It is effectively a Garamond revival, though a different name was chosen as many other modern typefaces already carry this name.

Syntax (typeface)

Syntax comprises a family of fonts designed by Swiss typeface designer Hans Eduard Meier. Originally just a sans-serif font, it was extended with additional serif designs.

Bank Gothic Typeface

Bank Gothic is a rectilinear geometric sans-serif typeface designed by Morris Fuller Benton for American Type Founders and released in 1930. The design has become popular from the late twentieth century to suggest a science-fiction, military, corporate, or sports aesthetic.

Avenir (typeface) Typeface

Avenir is a geometric sans-serif typeface designed by Adrian Frutiger in 1987 and released in 1988 by Linotype GmbH.

Friz Quadrata Serif font

Friz Quadrata is a glyphic serif typeface designed by Ernst Friz and Victor Caruso for Visual Graphics Corporation in 1965. VGC worked with the International Typeface Corporation to create an additional, bold weight. It is currently available from the ITC and Linotype foundries. Because of its level of detail and graphic weight, it is often used as a display font, for short texts and headlines.

Handel Gothic Sans-serif typeface

Handel Gothic is a geometric sans-serif typeface. The typeface was designed in 1965 by Donald J. Handel (1936–2002), who worked for the graphic designer Saul Bass. It was a companion typeface for the 1972 Warner Bros. logo and wordmark developed at Saul Bass' studios. It was also used in the 1973 United Airlines logo developed by Bass. It was used in the end credits of Sesame Street from 1983-1992.

Freestyle Script

Freestyle Script is an informal display script typeface that was designed by Colin Brignall in 1969 and Martin Wait in 1981, by Letraset. Freestyle Script is famously used for commercials in 1980s, birthday cards, decorative, logos and many others. The bold version was designed in 1986. The publishers of this font are Adobe, ITC, Monotype Imaging, Elsner+Flake, Esselte Corporation, Scangraphic Type, Linotype, Image Club, and Letraset. This font has few versions, namely Regular, Bold, LT, Plain, LET, EF, SB, SH, SH Reg Alt, and SB Reg Alt. Freestyle Script font supports up to 78 different languages for cursive (plain) and 33 different languages for other styles. The Cyrillic version of Freestyle Script was created in 1993, consisting of the glyphs in Latin supplement. The font has been included in MyFonts since 2000.

Zilla Slab Slab serif typeface commissioned by the Mozilla Foundation

Zilla Slab is a free to use, open source slab serif font commissioned by the Mozilla Foundation as a part of their rebranding process from mid-2016 to 2017. It was created in 2017 by Peter Biľak and Nikola Djurek, typeface designers for the Typotheque foundry. It is inspired by the Tesla Slab font, also originally designed by Typotheque. Its variant, Zilla Slab Highlight, features a unique ligature in its bold weight, where the character sequence “ill” will turn into “://”, purposely intended for using the stylized Mozilla wordmark as “moz://a”.
