Manhwa is the general Korean term for comics and print cartoons. Outside Korea, the term usually refers to South Korean comics, although the comics industry is emerging in North Korea as well.
ComicsOne Corp. was an American distributor of Asian Comics, established in 1999. ComicsOne was based in Fremont, California, in the San Francisco Bay Area. ComicsOne also served as the distributor for videos and merchandise related to its licensed titles.
HoiHoi-san, full title Ichigeki Sacchu!! HoiHoi-san, is a manga by Kunihiko Tanaka that spawned a PlayStation 2 game and a ten-minute OVA. In the year 20XX, insects have become immune to all pesticides. To combat the rising plague of cockroaches and other household pests, the tiny, doll-like extermination gynoids known as "Hoihoi-san" were created. They can hunt down insects and kill them with such miniaturized weapons as minuscule machine guns and tiny combat knives. They can also be treated as dolls, by dressing them up in costumes and buying accessories for them. The main robot of the anime wears a maid uniform and rabbit ears as accessories.
Kujibiki Unbalance, as it exists in the real world, is a three-episode original video animation (OVA) from the highly popular 2004 anime Genshiken, as well as a series of three light novels by Genshiken anime collaborator Michiko Yokote. Within the world of Genshiken, however, Kujibiki Unbalance is a popular ongoing manga and 26-episode anime adaptation, which is eagerly watched and discussed by the main characters. These same characters also purchase associated products and adult-oriented dojinshi based on the series, which constitute the motivation for some of the "club activities" held by the Genshiken. Genshiken characters who are fans of Kujibiki Unbalance tend to refer to it by the shorthand name of Kuji-Un.
Monthly Comic Dengeki Daioh is a Japanese shōnen manga magazine published by ASCII Media Works under the Dengeki brand. Many manga serialized in Dengeki Daioh were later published in tankōbon volumes under ASCII Media Works' Dengeki Comics imprint. The magazine is sold every month on the 27th. A yonkoma section of Dengeki Daioh called Dengeki Yonkoma Daioh (電撃4コマ大王) features various omake strips of the manga series published in it. The format is typically a normal drawing on the right side featuring one or sometimes more characters, and a vertical four panel strip on the left featuring characters from the associated series in super deformed form. Two special editions of the magazine called Dengeki Moeoh and Dengeki Daioh Genesis are sold bimonthly and quarterly, respectively.
ICEkunion published South Korean manhwa comics in the United States. The firm's industry experience come from Studio ICE. Titles were licensed from manhwa publishing companies that originally sold them in The Republic of Korea in the Korean language. According to an interview conducted by ICV2, the original creators themselves were involved in the adaptation process for the English-language markets.
Grupo Editorial Vid was a Mexican comic, manga and books publisher. It was funded in the early 1940s as Editorial Argumentos (EDAR). Many of their books are sold from around 30 pesos for comics up to 60 Pesos for manga. Both comics and manga are released monthly.
Unbalance ×2 is a Korean manhwa series written by Dall-Young Lim and illustrated by Soo-Hyun Lee. The series focuses on Jin-Ho Myung, a high school senior, and his romantic relationship with his homeroom teacher, Hae-Young Nah. The manhwa began biweekly serialization in Young Champ magazine in May 2005, and the first volume was released on June 15, 2005 by Daewon C.I.. The series had a long hiatus following the release of the ninth volume, and resumed serialization in Young Champ from October 2010 to October 2011. The tenth and final volume was released by Daewon C.I. on January 13, 2012. Unbalance Unbalance was licensed in North America by Infinity Studios, and released the first volume on January 11, 2007. A drama CD was released in Japan in September 2009.
The second season of the Yu Yu Hakusho anime series, known as the Dark Tournament Saga, was directed Noriyuki Abe and produced by Fuji Television, Yomiko Advertising and Studio Pierrot. The episodes were released in North America by Funimation. Like the rest of the series, it adapts Yoshihiro Togashi's Yu Yu Hakusho manga from the sixth through the thirteenth volumes over forty episodes. The episodes cover the story of Yusuke Urameshi and how his tenure as Spirit Detective led him to participate in the "Dark Tournament," a competition between demons to determine the strongest supernatural inhabitants of the Living World.
The third season of the Yu Yu Hakusho anime series, known as the Chapter Black Saga, was directed by Noriyuki Abe and produced by Fuji Television, Yomiko Advertising and Studio Pierrot. The episodes were released in North America by Funimation. Like the rest of the series, it adapts Yoshihiro Togashi's Yu Yu Hakusho manga from the thirteenth through seventeenth volumes over twenty-eight episodes. The episodes follow Spirit Detective Yusuke Urameshi and his conflict with a former Spirit Detective, Shinobu Sensui, and the latter's desire to open the gateway to Makai.
Iono-sama Fanatics is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Miyabi Fujieda. The manga was serialized between the first and last issues of the now-defunct Dengeki Teioh, a special edition version of Dengeki Daioh, from April 26, 2004 until November 26, 2006, and was published by MediaWorks. The series contains twelve chapters released in two bound volumes originally published under MediaWorks Dengeki Comics EX label. The manga has been licensed for English language distribution by Infinity Studios. The first volume in English was published on June 15, 2007, but the series was canceled before volume two was released.
Maid Sama! is a shōjo manga series by Hiro Fujiwara. It was serialized in Hakusensha's monthly shōjo manga magazine, LaLa. There are 18 published volumes under the Hana to Yume Comics imprint in Japan. At their Anime Expo 2008 panel, North American publisher Tokyopop announced its various newly licensed series and that Kaichō wa Maid-sama! would be titled Maid-sama! The series is out on Netflix subbed and dubbed. A 26-episode anime adaptation produced by J.C.Staff aired between April and September 2010.

Lim Dall-young is a South Korean author known for scripting the manhwa Unbalance Unbalance and the Korean–Japanese manga Black God and Freezing. He is the founder of Artlim Media, which was established in 1999.

Zero is a Korean manhwa written by Dall-Young Lim and illustrated by Park Sung-woo. Based on a popular series of Korean eroge of the same title. The manhwa was serialized into 69 chapters. The individual chapters were published into 10 bound volumes by Daiwon C.I. The manhwa is licensed in North America by Infinity Studios, in France by Tokebi and in Russia by Comics Factory. Infinity Studios announced its plans to Zero volume 4 onwards in Portable Document Format for e-book.
Aflame Inferno is a Korean manhwa series written by Dall-Young Lim and illustrated by Kwang-Hyun Kim, the former who is known for writing Unbalance Unbalance, Zero, and the Japanese manga Black God. The story revolves around Shi-Chan Kang, a high school student and fashion model who was nearly killed in a crossfire between demonic beings called "Tedlars". However, Inferno, one of the Tedlars, saves Shi-Chan's life by merging his body with his own. In order to separate themselves, they must collect 1,000 "Invento Hells" by killing other Tedlars in hopes of ever being separated from each other.
