The Canadian Champion Female Turf Horse is a Canadian Thoroughbred horse racing honor that is part of the Sovereign Awards program awarded annually to the top female Thoroughbred horse competing in Canada in races on turf. Created in 1975, by the Jockey Club of Canada as a single award for Champion Turf Horse, it was first won by the filly Victorian Queen. In 1995, it was split into male and female categories.

One For Rose is a Canadian three-time Champion Thoroughbred racehorse. On October 4, 2002, with little success in racing at nearly four years of age, One For Rose was claimed for $40,000 by trainer Sid Attard for Lou and Carlo Tucci's racing stable. Under trainer Attard, the filly blossomed in 2003 and earned the first of her three consecutive Sovereign Awards as the Canadian Champion Older Female Horse. She was retired at the end of the 2005 racing season after having won her third straight running of the Algoma Stakes, her second straight Ontario Matron Handicap and having beaten her male counterparts in her second straight victory in the Seagram Cup Stakes.

Park Express was an Irish Thoroughbred racehorse and broodmare. She showed promise as a two-year-old in 1985, before developing into a top-class middle-distance performer in the following season. Racing against horses of her own age and sex she won the Lancashire Oaks and Nassau Stakes before recording her biggest success against colts and older horses in the Phoenix Champion Stakes. She retired from racing with a record of five wins and five places from fourteen races. She later became an extremely successful broodmare, producing several good winners. Most importantly, she was the dam of The Derby winner New Approach, a colt foaled at a time when Park Express was completely blind. She died in 2006 at the age of 23.
Committed was an American-bred, Irish-trained Thoroughbred racehorse and broodmare. A specialist sprinter, she competed in four countries and won seventeen of her thirty races between 1982 and 1986. She showed promise as a two-year-old in 1982 and won six consecutive races in the following season, when she was campaigned exclusively in Ireland. As a four-year-old, she emerged as one of the leading sprinters in Europe, winning the Cork and Orrery Stakes and Nunthorpe Stakes in England and the Prix de l'Abbaye in France. In the following year she won the Ballyogan Stakes and Flying Five Stakes before becoming the third horse to win the Prix de l'Abbaye for a second time. She was retired from racing to become a broodmare in the United States and had considerable success as a dam of winners. She died in 2009 at the age of twenty-nine.
