Inoka Rohini de Silva also commonly known as Inoka Rohini (born around 1971) is a Sri Lankan former badminton player. [1]
De Silva was a national badminton champion at the women's doubles in 1995, 1996, 1998 partnering with Chandrika de Silva. [2] Inoka Rohini has also represented Sri Lanka at the 1998 Commonwealth Games.
P. Niroshan Wijekoon is a Sri Lankan Olympian and the first badminton player to represent Sri Lanka. Wijekoon held the Sri Lankan National Badminton Championships singles title for nine years.
The 2011 Sudirman Cup was the twelfth tournament of the Sudirman Cup. It was held from May 22–29, 2011 in Qingdao, China. According to the Badminton World Federation (BWF) 32 teams have confirmed their participation, for the first time twelve teams competed in the elite group to battle for the title.
Niluka Karunaratne is a Sri Lankan Olympic badminton player who has competed at the Olympics in 2012 and 2016. His father Louie Karunaratne and brothers Dinuka Karunaratne, Chamika Karunaratne and Diluka Karunaratne are also professional badminton players. He is currently regarded as the number one premiere badminton player in Sri Lanka and Sri Lanka's most decorated badminton player with a record 21 medals to his name at international events including 9 gold medals. He also holds the unique distinction of winning five gold medals in five different continents. He reached his higher career singles ranking of 34 in June 2013, which is also the personal best ranking by a Sri Lankan badminton player. He has also emerged as national badminton champion for record 17 times, the most by a Sri Lankan badminton player. Despite his achievements in the sport, he was also sidelined for disciplinary issues on few occasions.
Telma Santos is a Portuguese badminton player. She competed for Portugal at the 2012 Summer Olympics and at the 2016 Summer Olympics. Santos is the niece of Fernando Silva, a badminton player who also represented Portugal in the 1992 Summer Olympics.
Thilini Sudhara Jayasinghe is a Sri Lankan badminton player. Born in Peradeniya, Jayasinghe started playing badminton at age of 9, and has joined the national team in 2000. She attended Mahamaya College and was named Best Sports Woman in 2004. In 2006 and 2010, she competed at the Asian and Commonwealth Games. Jayasinghe also competed for Sri Lanka at the 2008 and 2012 Summer Olympics in the women's singles event. She is the first woman badminton player to have ever represented Sri Lanka at the Olympic Games.
Sawan Serasinghe is a former badminton player from Australia. He won seven Oceania Championships titles, five in the men's doubles and two in the mixed doubles. Serasinghe competed in the men's doubles event at the 2016 Summer Olympics alongside Matthew Chau.
Supanida Katethong is a Thai badminton player. She started playing badminton at aged nine, and join the Thailand national junior team in 2015. She won her first international title at the 2014 Singapore International tournament in the women's singles event. In the early of 2015, she won the women's singles title at the Granular Thailand International Challenge tournament. In May 2015, she won double titles at the Smiling Fish International tournament in the women's singles and doubles event. She also won the Sri Lanka International tournament in the women's singles event.
Sanyam Shukla is an Indian badminton player who plays for Chhattisgarh badminton team. In 2015, he won the Mauritius International tournament in the men's doubles event partnered with Ramchandran Shlok. Shukla was part of the national men's team member that won the gold medal in 2019 South Asian Games.
Thilini Pramodika Hendahewa is a Sri Lankan badminton player. She competed at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics in Nanjing, China, also at the 2014 and 2018 Commonwealth Games. Hendahewa was the women' singles champion at the 2014 Sri Lanka national championships. She won her first senior international title at the 2017 Lagos International tournament in the women's singles and doubles event. Together with Kavidi Sirimannage, she claimed the gold medal in 2019 South Asian Games.
Chandrika de Silva also known as Renu Chandrika Hettiarachchige is a Sri Lankan badminton player. She represented her country at the 2002, 2006 and 2010 Commonwealth Games.
Dona Lekha Shehani Handunkuttihettige is a Sri Lankan badminton player. She started to playing badminton at the age of 8. In 2009, she began to participate in the national badminton tournament, and in 2013, she won her first national title. She competed at the 2010 Summer Youth Olympics in Singapore. In 2014, she was the runner-up at the Uganda International tournament in the women's singles event. In 2016, she won the singles title at the Ivory Coast International, and in 2017, she won doubles title at the Ethiopia International in the women's singles and doubles event. Shehani was graduated from the Convent of Our Lady of Victories, Moratuwa.
Kavidi Ishadika Sirimannage is a Sri Lankan badminton player. In 2010, she won the mixed doubles title at the Sri Lanka Air Force Championships with Niluka Karunaratne. In 2015, she was crowned as the champion in the women's doubles, and the runner-up in the singles and mixed doubles. In 2016 she helped the Sri Lankan women's team win a silver medal at the South Asian Games, and also won a bronze in the singles and the mixed doubles event. She won the 2017 Summer Season Championships in the women's doubles event with Thilini Hendahewa, and was the runner-up in the singles. She won her first international title at the Lagos International tournament in the women's doubles event with Hendahewa. She competed at the 2017 Summer Universiade in Taipei, Taiwan, and at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast.
Jacqueline Guan is an Australian badminton player. In 2011, she won the girls' doubles title at the Australian Junior International tournament partnered with Gronya Somerville. At the same year, she and Somerville represented their country competed at the 2011 Commonwealth Youth Games. The duo lose the girls' doubles bronze medal match to Sri Lankan pair with the score 12–21, 21–19, and 16–21. She also competed at the 2011 and 2012 World Junior Championships. In 2014, she won the gold medal at the Oceania Championships in the women's doubles event and a silver medal in the mixed doubles event. In July 2014, she competed at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games.
Subodha Kumari Yapa Dahanayake is a Sri Lankan female badminton player. She has represented Sri Lanka in several international competitions since making her debut for the national team in 2009. She has represented Sri Lanka at the 2010 Asian Games and in the 2010 Commonwealth Games.
Nadeesha Gayanthi Murukkuwadura is a Sri Lankan badminton player. She was included in the national badminton team in 2006 and got the opportunity to represent Sri Lanka at the 2006 Asian Games competing in the women's singles and women's doubles events.
Choi Min-ho is a South Korean badminton player. Choi who educated at the Icheon high school competed at the 1998 World Junior Championships, won a silver in the mixed doubles and a bronze in the boys' doubles events. At the young age, Choi clinched the senior international tournament for the first time at the 1997 Korea International in the mixed doubles event partnered with Lee Hyo-jung. He won double titles at the 1998 Sri Lanka International, winning the men's and mixed doubles event.
