The Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE) is India's leading recognized professional society devoted to the advancement of science, technology, electronics, telecommunication and information technology. Founded in 1953, it serves more than 120,000+ members through 60+ centers/sub centers primarily located in India (3 abroad). The Institution provides leadership in scientific and technical areas of direct importance to the national development and economy. Association of Indian Universities (AIU), Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has recognized AMIETE, ALCCS (Advanced Level Course in Computer Science). Government of India has recognized IETE as a Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (SIRO) and also notified as an educational institution of national eminence. The IETE focuses on advancement of electronics and telecommunication technology. The IETE conducts and sponsors technical meetings, conferences, symposium, and exhibitions all over India, publishes technical [1] [2] and research journals [3] and provides continuing education as well as career advancement opportunities to its members.
IETE today is one of the prominent technical institution to provide education to working professionals in India and is fast expanding its wings across the country through its 60+ centres. Since 1953, IETE has expanded its educational activities in areas of electronics, telecommunications, computer science and information technology. IETE conduct programs by examination, leading to DipIETE equivalent to Diploma in Engineering, AMIETE equivalent to B Tech, and ALCCS equivalent to M Tech. IETE started Dual Degree, Dual Diploma and Integrated programs in December 2011. DipIETE is a three year, six semester course whereas AMIETE is a four year, eight semester course. IETE conducts examination for the above said courses, twice a year once in June and in December. Courses are divided into two sections, Section A and Section B. [4] Courses of IETE are recognized by IISc, [5] IIT, NIT, IIIT, IIM, CMI, [6] TIFR, ISI, [7] IIIT various Central and State Universities. [8] IETE graduates are eligible to take national levels tests like GATE, CAT, JEST etc. for Masters as well as for PhD admissions in various leading technical institutions across the country. AMIETE by examination is recognized by the AICTE and MHRD, Government of India, as equivalent to B.E./B.Tech. [9] IETE is a member of ECI. [10]
A Bachelor of Technology is an undergraduate academic degree in the field of engineering and technology conferred after the completion of a four-to-five-year program of studies at an accredited university or accredited higher education institution, such as a college or university in India and other countries. In India, this is a four-year undergraduate degree awarded by few universities and colleges which is equivalent to four-year Bachelor of Engineering with Honours.
K. J. Somaiya College of Engineering (KJSCE) was established in 1983 as a college affiliated to the University of Mumbai. The college received autonomous status in 2014 and since 2019 the college is affiliated to Somaiya Vidyavihar University. It offers 4 year bachelor's degree engineering courses, 2 year postgraduate programmes and runs Ph.D research centres in various disciplines. KJSCE is situated in Somaiya Vidyavihar University campus which is spread across approximately 65 acres of posh land. Earlier it was also one of the only 7 autonomous engineering colleges in Mumbai.
Ramrao Adik Institute of Technology (RAIT) is a private engineering college located in Nerul, Navi Mumbai, India. It was established in the year 1983. The institute is approved by the Government of Maharashtra and is recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). Since 2020–21, the institute has been affiliated to Padmashree Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Navi Mumbai. The Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, and Electronics and Telecommunications departments have been accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA). The institute has been given A grade by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) during their visit to the college in the second half of 2016.
Assam Engineering College, established in 1955, is located in Guwahati. It is the first engineering college of Assam and is affiliated to Assam Science and Technology University. AEC has been the hub of many academic and supplementary activities in Assam. It is a public college run by the state of Assam. While the majority of students are from Assam, there are fixed quotas for students from neighbouring states. The college is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education AICTE.
Lokmanya Tilak College of Engineering, established in 1994 is an engineering college in Navi Mumbai. It was founded in 1957 and is a Registered Public Trust under the Bombay Public Trust Act, 1950.The headquarters is at Navi Mumbai. IIIE is a member organization of Engineering Council of India.
Sardar Patel Institute of Technology (SPIT), officially Bharatiya Vidya Bhavans Sardar Patel Institute of Technology, is an autonomous un-aided Engineering Institute affiliated to University of Mumbai. The college was established in 1995 as an extension of its sister institute, the Sardar Patel College of Engineering, before becoming an independent unaided institute in 2005. Apollo Engineering College (AEC) is a private, self-financing, co-educational institution approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and is affiliated to the Anna University. AEC was established in 2007. This institution has a built up area of about 2,00,000 sq.feet and has been fully finished. The floors are furnished and there is a garden. All departments have smart rooms that are equipped with most modern teaching aids like LCD projectors, OHP, multimedia computer systems and audio/video devices.
Parala Maharaja Engineering College (PMEC), Brahmapur, Odisha is a government engineering college in Southern Odisha, India. Established in 2009, the college was inaugurated by Naveen Patnaik, the then chief minister of Odisha. This college is named after the King Krushna Chandra Gajapati who is regarded as the architect of an Independent united Odisha State. This college is also accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) New Delhi, Govt. of India.
The Parshvanath College of Engineering was a private engineering college located in Kasarvadavali, Thane district of Maharashtra state in India. It was established in 1994, and was managed by the Parshvanath Charitable Trust. It was a Jain religious minority college. While it was functioning, it was affiliated to the University of Mumbai, was accredited by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) of the Government of India, and was recognised by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) of the state government of Maharashtra.
