Integrated Personnel and Pay System-Army (IPPS-A) is a United States Army acquisition program that seeks to integrate human resources and pay for all Army Soldiers. It provides online tools and replaces older Army human resource systems. It also provides talent management capabilities and is essential to the Army's People Strategy. IPPS-A provides three main capabilities: Total Force Visibility, Talent Management and the ability to successfully complete audits. [1] It has successfully fielded to the Army National Guard (ARNG) and was scheduled to field to the active and reserve components by December 2021. [2]
On 17 January 2023 IPPS-A Release 3 is now available to soldiers in all three components — Active Army, Reserve, and National Guard. [3] [4] For example, a soldier can show a Self-professed Talent to the Army, using the "TAM Soldier Workplace" tile in Release 3 IPPS-A; [5] : minute 45:52 This would then show up in the "Soldier Talent Profile".
Fielding was delayed in October 2021 during the system acceptance test; issues with importing data from existing personnel systems have delayed the live transfer of action requests to, or from, IPPS-A until September 2022. [6] [7] The 20 September 2022 cutover to IPPS-A was delayed, as data from legacy Recruiting software and data to Defense Manpower Data Center software was not yet stable. [8] [9]

Form DD214 and the Transition Processing System are a work in process for the week from 23 to 30 January 2023; discharge forms and separation orders required to get access to Veterans Affairs disability pay, retirement pensions, the G.I. Bill, etc. are unavailable for this period. [14]

Previous Army payroll software [25] allowed soldiers to select either a monthly payday, or a semimonthly payday. As part of IPPS-A, on 1 October 2022 the Army switches to a semimonthly payday, on the 15th and on the last day of each month, for long-term active-duty Soldiers. [26]

Korean Augmentation to the United States Army is a branch of the Republic of Korea Army that consists of Korean enlisted personnel who are seconded to the Eighth United States Army (EUSA). The reorganization plan of the United States Army was implemented from 2006 to 2016 under the direction of the Brigade Modernization Command. The Defense Integrated Military Human Resources System was an enterprise program of the Business Transformation Agency's Defense Business Systems Acquisition Executive, within the United States Department of Defense (DoD). As the largest enterprise resource planning program ever implemented for human resources, DIMHRS was to subsume or replace over 90 legacy systems. The first phase of DIMHRS was expected to roll out first to the U.S. Army in 2009 and bring all payroll and personnel functions for the Army into one integrated web-based system. The U.S. Air Force, United States Navy and the Marines were expected to roll out in that order after the Army had implemented it. On January 16, 2009, the Deputy Secretary of Defense issued a memorandum directing the Military Departments (MILDEPS) and the Defense Finance Accounting Service (DFAS), to confirm the "core" enterprise requirements of the capability at that time. Once, confirmed, the BTA was to transition the solution to the individual MILDEPS to build out and deploy their own required personnel and pay solutions using the "core" to the maximum extent possible..(Memorandum, Deputy Secretary of Defense, January 16, 2009, Subject: Acquisition Decision Memorandum for the Defense Integrated Military Human Resources System). The solution was transitioned to the MILDEPS on September 30, 2009. After numerous delays, technical problems, and other issues, in February 2010, the DoD completed the transition of the program, after 11 years and $850 million.

Today, TRADOC is the overseer of training of the Army forces, the development of operational doctrine, and the development and procurement of new weapons systems. The reconstructed Adjutant General Corp Regiment (AG) was created in 1987. The U.S. Army administration and finance specialists are trained at the Adjutant General School located at Fort Jackson. Today's AG Corps serves as human resource (HR) managers for the Army.
