The Interamerican Scout Jamboree is the biggest event of the Interamerican Scout Region. It is held every four years in a different country of the region. The host country is elected during the Interamerican Scout Conference. Ecuador was announced as the host of the 15th Interamerican Scout Jamboree at the XXV Interamerican Scout Conference in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on 21 September 2013.

The 13th Pan-American Scout Jamboree would have taken place in the Cuzco, Peru, in the vicinity of the famous architecture of Machu Picchu. The Association of Scouts of Peru sent a letter to retiring itself as the South American Jamboree host to "avoid paperwork" and "problems". Throughout the 12th Pan-American Scout Jamboree Argentina 2005 and 2006 Peru promoted the 13th Pan-American Scout Jamboree in Peru.
It was decided to postpone the 13th Pan-American Scout Jamboree to be held in Mexico during December 2009, to avoid the risks by the outbreak of H1N1 influenza at the time.
The Organizing Committee of 13th Pan-American Scout Jamboree made the decision to change the venue of the event, to be held from July 10 to 18 2010, from Alameda Park 2000, located in the City of Toluca, in the state of Mexico, to the Scout Training Camp "Meztitla" located in the town of Tepoztlan, in the state of Morelos.
This decision was made based on the following aspects, which were duly tested:
The official song for the JamPan 2010 was "Discover Your Spirit". The song was sung by Nudo, a Scout band from Mexico. After appearing in various events organized by the ASMAC, Nudo was excluded from participating in the JamPan 2010, where they were scheduled to do a presentation to the participants during the opening ceremony, without explanation involved. Originally this event was called "Pan-American Scout Jamboree", where countries of Latin America and the Caribbean were regular participants, but the Interamerican Scout Committee decided to change the name to "Interamerican Scout Jamboree" for including USA and Canada in this event, In the preview year, these countries were invited.
Usually, Scouts from 11 to 15 years of age had a special program during the Pan-American Scout Jamborees, but after the 2010 Interamerican Scout Conference, the Interamerican Scout Committee decided to separate the events and create the "JamCam". Scouts were placed in the Camporee, and Venturers in the Jamboree, both with similar programs and held in the same venue. JamCam will be the new promotional name for the Interamerican Scout Jamboree and Camporee, replacing the JamPan, which stood for "Jamboree Panamericano", Spanish for Pan-American Scout Jamboree.
The JamCam 2013 was planned to be held in "La Florida" Park, located in Bogota, Colombia. This park hosted the 3rd Pan-American Jamboree. By-law of the District Government as to the use of public space, the IDRD told the JamCam 2013 Organizing Committee in December 2012 that it was confirmed that "La Florida" Park would host the Jamboree and the Camporee, but they left the park open to the general public income. This puts at risk the logistical, administrative and security of the events.
The World Scout Jamboree is a Scouting jamboree of the World Organization of the Scout Movement, typically attended by several tens of thousands of Scouts from around the world, aged 14 to 17.

A camporee is a local or regional gathering of Scouting units for a period of camping and common activities. Similar to a camporee, a jamboree occurs less often and draws units from the entire nation or world. It should not be confused with the Australian term jamborette.

The Interamerican Region is the divisional office of the World Scout Bureau of the World Organization of the Scout Movement, headquartered in Ciudad del Saber, Panama. The Interamerican Region services Scouting in the Western Hemisphere, both North and South America. Until the 1960s, the "Inter-American Scout Advisory Committee" serviced only Mexico, Central and South America, with Canada and the United States serviced through the then-named "Boy Scouts International Bureau" in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Even today, the Interamerican Region exists more for the benefit of countries south of the Rio Grande, as evidenced by the website being only in Spanish until 2011; consequently, the United States and Canada did not participate as vigorously in regional activities as do other national organizations around the world, however this is changing in the 2010s.
The Asociación de Scouts de México, Asociación Civil (ASMAC) is a Scouting association in Mexico. ASMAC was formed in 1920 and became a member of the World Organization of the Scout Movement on August 26, 1926. It was registered as a Civil Association by the Mexican government on 24 February 1943. ASMAC claimed 33,509 members. The ASMAC headquarters are located in Mexico City.
The Scout Association of Jamaica, the national Scouting organisation of Jamaica, was founded in 1910, and became a member of the World Organization of the Scout Movement in 1963. The coeducational Scout Association of Jamaica has 2,539 members in 18 districts as of 2011.

The 18th World Scout Jamboree was held August 1 to 11, 1995 and was hosted by the Netherlands on a polder near Biddinghuizen, Dronten community, Flevoland. 28,960 Scouts and staff members from 166 countries and territories participated in the event, the largest representation of countries to date, including 34 countries where Scouting was being born or reborn.
Oscar Victor Palmquist Arias of Curitiba, Paraná, Brazil was one of 12 elected volunteer members of the World Scout Committee, the main executive body of the World Organization of the Scout Movement, Vice Chairman of the World Scout Conference "Curitiba-Brazil 2011" Organizing Committee and member of the International Relations Committee. He was elected at the 38th World Scout Conference in South Korea for a six-year term. Palmquist has acquired a wide experience covering 101 countries and five continents. In his job, Palmquist visits an average of 11 countries per year on several continents. As Member of the World Scout Committee and was the chairman of the MTF Membership review task force which allowed the World Scout Committee to recommend Palestine, Macao, Aruba and Curacao as WOSM members, and as Chairman of the Global Support Priority Area he created the Global Support concept and the GSAT Global Support Assessment Tool.

Daniel Gil "Dan" Ownby is a Houston area energy professional and currently serves as the International Commissioner for the Boy Scouts of America. He also is a member of the Executive Committee of the Boy Scouts of America and heads the United States Fund for International Scouting (USFIS).
The New Zealand Scout Jamboree is a Jamboree which is held every three years by Scouts New Zealand. The Jamboree is traditionally held in late December and early January, with a significant New Years party. The 22nd New Zealand Scout Jamboree was held at Mystery Creek Events Centre, Hamilton in the North Island from 28 December 2019 to 7 January 2020.

Fernando Brodeschi, born in Curitiba, Brazil was one of the 12 elected members of the World Scout Committee, the main executive body of the World Organization of the Scout Movement. He was elected to the Committee at the 40th World Scout Conference in Ljubljana, Slovenia in 2014.
